My Galaxy.....
I have had a few phones starting back from 2000 to now. I have used the range of different makes and different models, but I was never content and satisfied until my Samsung Galaxy Note. Yeah, it took a while to get used to the size cause it is a bit bigger, but you know what? I have never dropped it, have never forgotten it somewhere. I have never honestly had a problem with it. Any issues I had were because I personally didn't know how to use a certain program until I learned and then all was awesome. I have had the *grandfather* galaxy note and It will remain - Galaxy notes - what I will always use, I am sold.....

The good and the bad
I loved this phone to death. I got it originally because the size but it offered so much more than that. After about a year the charger port went out so i had to get a new one. And recently it had an issue with the battery and it was swollen so i bought a new battery then worked fine. But now it's starting to glitch out with the touch screen apparently samsung knows about the software issue with the android 3.0-4.1 the touchscreen will start to glitch out and turn the phone off. So i'm stuck between leaving samsung all together or staying a true fan and getting the note 3 i haven't decided yet.

Q: Can I have different Text tones for different contacts?
I figured out how to download ringtones so I have different ones for different people, but whenever I get a text message they are all the same. Any other phone I've had the text tone was the same as the ringtone for each specific person. Is there anyway to change it on this phone? I like to know who is texting me instead of it all being the same.

A: I think you need to be synced with your google account. i looked and it let me change ringtone but i have yet to see if the ringtone you assign actually works with the contact you assign it to when you get a text from that contact. maybe there is an app for that? good luck!

Q: Does the phone support Chinese?
I know that I can install apps to write in Chinese on the phone. However, Samsung phones sold in the US are notorious for being some of the only Android-based phones that can't send text messages in East Asian languages (except Korean). They always end up with the "corrupted text" pop-up and question marks instead of characters on the receiving phone. Have they fixed this yet?

Q: How long does the battery actually last?
I have seen reviews saying the battery dies quickly. If you use the phone quite a bit during the day, like Facebook and web browsing, by what time is the phone actually dying? How bad is the battery really?

A: Hi KatieD,
This is really subjective but I will try and answer it as best I can.
I have owned my Note for about six weeks now so I have a really good idea of how long the battery will last after I take it off of the charger in the morning (I charge mine overnight, usually).
With light use on a full charge, the phone will last you all day and then some. However, the things that kill your battery quickly are the GPS, LTE downloads/uploads, and of course the longer you use it. My last phone was an iPhone 4 and I find the battery life (esp. considering the size) is a little better on the Note.
One of the nice things I found on this phone was the battery graph. It's under Settings > About Phone > Battery (see screenshot below)
It will tell you exactly what is using up your battery, and for how long. It's a really nifty little feature that helps you keep tabs on what (if anything) is chewing on your battery. Sometimes apps are the culprit, too.
Hardware-wise, the Note comes with a relatively HUGE 2,500mAh battery; for comparison, the iPhone 4S has a 1432mAh. What this means in English is the more mAh (Milliamp hours) a battery has, the more power it holds, and the longer it lasts.
Samsung includes an option called "Power Saving" that works pretty well; it allows you to cut back on some of the performance of the phone to save some battery. I tend to use it if I'm not going to be near a charger for the rest of the day (car or wall) and it really helps keep the battery up. The normal speed of the phone is 1.5Ghz with no power saving; power saving drops it down to ~800Mhz so you won't see a dip in web, e-mail, etc., but definitely in games and what not. You can also customize this to your liking as well.
Hope that helps!
