Marcus was horrible, arrogant and dismissive. I ask to speak with the manager and his answer was that the manager was in a conference call that will last for an hour and a half. This store used to be the best in the area, it’s so sad to see a sales person that acts like he is doing you a favor and races his voice to customers. Shout out to Jessica. She should be the next President of ATT. She has all the qualifications needed and surely what ATT is lacking across the board. Manhattan Beach store employees deserve a raise! This store under staffed. It is common to wait up to an hour to see a service person no matter what you are doing at the store. When I bought my phone I was upsold AT&T TV because it would part of a “package” which I found out later wasn’t true. I’ve tried to return it twice but the wait to get in is so long I’ve had to leave. I’ll try again tomorrow. DISHONEST & SCAMMER ALERT - My husband went in about 3 months ago to do the presale trade in for the new iPhone 12. He was to trade in his old iPhone and upgrade to the 12. While he was there, he also upgraded our Apple TV. They provided us with the box and label to ship the old phone back. We were told it would take 3 billing cycles to see the see the #$$ back on our account for the trade in. Next month we see on our bill that we were upgraded to a new phone line - which we never agreed to , or signed up for. He went back to the store in which he was treated negatively and would they would not take responsibility for their mistake. We also talked to an agent online and were told that this is not uncommon for an in store service person to do a bait and switch so that they earn commission. Dealing with the store they told my husband the issue was taken care of and he would be refunded. Now 3 months later, we are still dealing with an issue. Being charged for 2 iPhone 12s and a new line - neither of which were signed up for, was in our possession nor did we ever use. When confronted again in store, they would not accept responsibility and told me that they had no proof of us sending back the phone and we had to call ATT directly. Instead of dealing with an issue that they caused, they sent us away to deal with it. They gave us the label but pretended not to know the whereabouts of our turn in. We dealt with ATT on the phone and they gave us the money back on the 2nd iPhone we had and then we went back to the store to let them know but they refused to help us get refunded for the charges that were added bcuz of this extra line and hone. Here I stand with almost $1,000 in extra charges that store manager basically told me she couldn't help me on. Why should I pay for this? Why can't I be helped with this issue when it was clearly their fault. I will be taking all of our business elsewhere. I run a home office business mainly on the phone and will be taking all 4 phone lines, TV service and business elsewhere. Worst customer service ever and the most dishonest employees at a phone store I have ever dealt with. I was ripped off!! Last September, I went into the Manhattan Beach AT&T store to talk about trading in my iPhone 6s Plus for a new phone (there was a sign in the window that caught my eye). A sales lady confirmed this deal. When I came back a couple of days later, I spoke with a male representative (I will withhold his name for now) who told me that he could get me the I-phone 11 for $11.67/mo for 30 months. In total, I would be paying $350 (50% off the retail price of $700). He also said that he would change my phone plan so that even with the new phone, I would be paying $40 less per month. He didn’t even need my old phone as a trade-in. Sounded like a good deal. However, when the next bill arrived, I noticed an added phone line with a bogus phone number. My wife went into the store to inquire about the number and was told by same employee that a new line had to be created to get the deal on the new phone. She also questioned why the bill had increased instead of decreasing by $40 as promised. He could not provide an answer. Over the next few months, Each time a bill came in and did not seem right, my wife would Call the general AT&T number for an explanation. No one could figure out the bill or what transpired at the manhattan beach store. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, an AT&T rep. Gave me the info that I needed. Besides paying the $11.67/mo for the new phone, I was paying $15 fee/month (minimum of 30 months) for this bogus phone line that the Manhattan beach representative set up. So, he had me paying $11.67 plus $15 for 30 months, or a total of $800....for a $700 phone!!!! Had I known this, I never would have agreed to it. A few days ago, my wife went into this store and complained to the manager and another store employee. They provided one excuse after another and even said “your husband knew what he was getting into” and “you got a ,”cheaper plan didn’t you?” Based on my bills, I would say NO! Besides, the plan had nothing to do with the new phone....should have been two separate transactions!! Finally, manager agreed to reverse $5/mo (included in the $15) for an early upgrade fee I never agreed to. He said there was nothing I could do about the $10/mo that I will be paying on this bogus phone line. I will never step into that Manhattan beach store again and will be looking to other phone providers for service if I do not get this $10/mo reversed ($300 in total).Response from AT&TJanuary 26, 2021Hello John A.
