Better than gizmo!
We had the gizmo for our kids for 2 years but the calls were glitchy and the app was clunky. You can only have 10 contacts on the gizmo. This watch is so much better! The contacts do need the amigo app to text the kids, which I like. There is a group chat function which is awesome for our family! We have also tried a watch from Amazon and it was picking up random conversations. I highly recommend this watch!!

Worst watch on the market
Previously I’ve purchased Verizon and T-Mobile watches for my children. They were all excellent. Recently, we made the switch to AT&T, so we purchased their Kid watches. They are by far the worst we’ve experience. There’s no way to text outside of the app. The GPS location is never consistent. The calls are often dropped. The actual buttons on the watch stick often. The straps break quickly. I can’t recall a time I've been more disappointed with a purchase. Please do NOT buy these watches.
