    *PLEASE READ* NEVER and I mean NEVER, go to an AT&T Authorized Retailer ("ATTAR"). The only vendors who are allowed to sell an Apple iPhone device outright is an official AT&T branch store, NOT an ATTAR. The only way that an ATTAR can sell you an iPhone is if they also sell you an installment plan attached to a SPECIFIC type of unlimited data plan. We've been AT&T customers for... say 15+ years. I've purchased 3+ iPhones from official branch stores. Typically, you walk in and naturally, they pull up your account information and plan. I walked into this store and asked "Jonathan" to pull up my account information. I should have immediately thought it odd that he skipped this very necessary step. Instead of pulling up my information, he skirted around the entire subject, even though I asked multiple times. He began telling me about their iPhones and specifically, a deal they had going on where the iPhone 11 is now 1/2 off when you sign up for the 36/mo. installment plan. He explained to me that my plan would not change, except $10 would be added to my bill each month for 36 months. I went to pay because it *sounded* like a great deal. He then summed up the pricing pitch previously explained to me, and I went to pay. However, I looked at the invoice and the price showed the FULL price of the iPhone 11, not the agreed upon 1/2 off discount. Obviously, I pointed out to him, where is the price that we discussed? It doesn't appear that the discount applied. He replied something along the lines of, "oh that's odd, must be on another page." He and another woman then looked through the invoice. He apologized to me and said "okay, the plan you are currently on is an old plan that we no longer offer. This deal for the 1/2 off iPhone 11 only applies to the most current unlimited plan (which we do not have). He began to explain how we could go through the process of returning the phone, etc. I was obviously LIVID at this point because this error was completely HIS, and now my time and money have been wasted. He either 1) simply did not know how to do his job at all or 2) intentionally ripped me off trying to make a sale. Both are equally as horrible. He did not even attempt to contact his supervisor or someone higher up with the capability of fixing this situation that he caused. I brought along my boyfriend with me to make this purchase, and this was not a "I misunderstood what he was selling" situation. What Jonathan was pitching to me and what I agreed to, was NOT what I got. Plain and simple. To make matters worse, I got a notification the next day that Jonathan not only misrepresented the details of a sale, but went into my account and CHANGED MY PLAN. He did not attach the new iPhone 11 to my current plan. He essentially attached a new unlimited plan to that iPhone 11. This unauthorized changed added hundreds to my current family plan. 1) He did not know or even understand the details of the promotion he sold to me, 2) he did not know or CARE to know my current plan before selling me a new phone, 3) he failed the offer the appropriate recourse to address his own error, and 4) he made unauthorized changes to my account that raised my bill exponentially each month. THANKFULLY, AT&T must understand that these ATTAR stores do not know what they are doing. I called AT&T about this unfortunate ordeal, and they transferred me to Corporate. They addressed the situation well and reversed the unauthorized change of our plan. The new iPhone 11 was simply added back to our normal plan. However, I'm still stuck with paying the $300+ extra for an iPhone 11 that I did not anticipate paying for. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and visit an official AT&T Branch Store. The employees (I'm confident in assuming) are trained extensively because they are a reflection of the Corporation as a whole, not simply a 3rd-party vendor. PLEASE listen.
