I got the fone for my son and he is 13yrs old he love this fone he say its easy for him to use and anyone who is instered in new technology this is the fone for YOU even also he says even thow it a little big and bulky he says it a good fone for texting he and say a problem with the fone is that is has no camera but with all the cool feature it has its no problem...................................ITS A GREAT FONE FOR THIS PRICE

I would not recommend a refurbished phone. I typically restore my phone once a week due to JVM errors. I guess that saying, "you get what you pay for", is true when it comes to refurbished equipment. I like the phone but hesitate to purchase it new due to the issues I have experienced.

The phone is great for texting, but is very big and bulky and doesnt fit into pockets with ease. Has some cool features like; the texting is in the format of AIM. There is word documents to type on, and the battery lasts for a very long time.

Okay, so the phone doesn't have a camera. I carry my digital camera with me all the time, anyway, and I wouldn't trade a cell-quality pic with the 10.1Megapixel resolution on my camera, anyway. So what that it doesn't have a camera!
Now the camera issue is out of the way. I really love this phone. Having the ability to get my email anywhere I am as well as txt msgs, etc., is fantastic. The QWERTY keyboard is great. I can send long emails from it with no fatigue or feeling of frustration like using a "normal" cell phone.
I use the organizer functions to keep me sync-ed with my work computer (using Novell GroupWise) and my laptop (using MS Outlook). Using my 8700 as the bridge, all three of these things stay up-to-date with the latest updates to calendars and address books and other functions.
The screen is bright and easy to see and read.
Well, I could go on and on... and if you were to ask me in person, I WOULD!
