Only reason I would not recommend this phone is because of its so sensitive. I dropped it once, less then a foot from the rug, and since the touch screen has been a problem. I love the idea but it supports my resent towards touchscreens. Being a loyal blackberry customer, I hope they fix it.
Prosmenus, camera/video quality, speaker, battery life, Wi-Fi capable, good for texting
Consbulky/heavy, freezes, durability, screen is easy to break
No, I do not recommend this product.

I tried the iPhone and prefer Blackberry
I have the Torch 9800 and got it after losing my iPhone. I was pleasantly surprised that it had better call quality and reception, much fewer dropped calls. I need a smartphone to be a good phone above all. Secondly, I have re-fallen in love with the Qwerty keyboard. I use my phone for work, thus many emails have to go out without embarassing typos. Qwerty kills touch screen which is just not as good no matter the iPhone hype. One drawback is sluggish browsing. The 9810 is supposed to be better and that will be my next phone. Oh and I love the fact that the blackberry products can live without a phone case!
ProsWi-Fi capable, ease of use, good for texting, battery life, durable, call reception quality
Conslimited memory
Yes, I recommend this product.

I don't think I will ever change to another phone, I love the torch. The pics it takes are awesome and the videos it takes turn out wonderfully. I use this phone personal use and work. Uploading pics to facebook is so easy

Quite good for introductory touchscreen product

Have had this, my first BB and first smartphone, for about 1 year. Have read all the negatives and the only one I can really agree to is battery life, but I defy anyone to show me a smartphone with battery life anywhere close to the "old" (pre-smartphone) cell phones. A smartphone is like a hand-held computer; what do you expect - super-conductor battery performance?! Not happening for 15-20 years, folks! Consider also, how long does your laptop battery last if you leave it on 7/24 without recharge? You CAN improve battery life by reducing backlight intensity to 10-20% without degrading visibility; also close & exit apps when not in use so they don't continue in background.
I found the qwerty keyboard a bit small and it took a some time to acclimate. Don't like touch screen KBs as a rule (just personal preference). But the overall touch application is useful; I find myself using both trackball & touchscreen quite often.
OS and menu structure is the easiest I've ever used and the data, media, information files interface easily with Excel, Word, iTunes, etc. BB Desktop software is recommended. So is frequent data back-up .... just like your computer files.
I added a 32GB microSD & also use the phone as mp3 player (1,400 music pieces) in my truck and as a portable photo album (200+ photos). Still have about 18GB free space. Overall, for my purposes, I find this product exceptional as communication device (voice, email & text) and as a PDA. I WILL DEFINITELY get another BB (probably the Bold 9900 because of the larger qwerty KB) when I am due for upgrade in the summer. Looking forward to 4G also!
