The quality has been fantastic. I was afraid it might be like using my cell phone in the house. It has been as great quality as a land line for me, at half the cost.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is NOT like a landline at all
The only thing to like about wireless home phone service is the price. I have had mine for nearly 2 years and AT&T has still not been able to make my call-waiting work! its aggravating! The caller id works, so I know someone is calling, but if I click over, I lose both calls. Also, frequently there is an echo on the phone. Usually I can get rid of it by hanging p and placing my call again, but its a bit of a chore. Its like a regular home phone, from the 1950's!
No, I do not recommend this product.

Voice quality is excellent. It does not sound like a cell phone. Local and long distance calls sound as good as a land line phone

Q: Will the LG AF300 still work after February 22, 2022 when AT&T shuts down the 3G service?

A: AT&T has put a firm date on the shutdown of its 2G and 3G network as Feb 22, 2022, so the AT&T Wireless Home Phone, Model # AF300 will not work after that date. The Alarm Industry Communications Committee has asked the Federal Communications Commission to delay the 3G shutdown until the end of the year, arguing that disruptions caused by COVID-19 have prevented its members from upgrading roughly 2 million consumers’ equipment. Even if the date is pushed back, however, the end of 3G is coming. The most obvious casualties of the 3G shutdown will be older phones, tablet computers and smartwatches that rely on 3G to connect to a mobile network. Most of these devices have already been consigned to the recycling bin of history; to see if your device can survive the AT&T 3G sunset, consult the list AT&T has posted online. If it’s not on the list, you have a problem...^Ivan

Q: Does this box have to stay close to phone? How far can I go without the box?

A: The LG Wireless Home Phone device uses the AT&T cellular network to provide phone service to your cordless or corded home phone(s). It can be placed anywhere in your house where you have a
wireless signal. It does not require the use of a home phone wall jack like traditional home phone service. It should be placed where you have a strong cellular signal from a cell tower, typically near a window or outside wall. Signal strength may vary in different parts of your home. You will also need to place it near an electrical wall outlet....^Ivan

Q: I am seriously considering this as an alternative to my landline. I don't see anything in the FAQs how I can use it with my existing phone handsets - 2 cordless 1 corded. The 3 phones are across two levels in my house. How can this be configured?

A: Plug the base (usually also the answering machine) into the ATT device separating the two by a few feet if possible placing the ATT device close to a window. I recommend somewhere on the upper floor for coverage. Expand your wireless system to a few more phones, we use one with 5 wireless. Place a few wireless on both levels. We've been running this way for 2yrs.
To connect the wired and wireless as you describe you would have to plug the device into the house wiring which will create issues if not disconnected from the wired ATT on the outside of the house. Not recommended.
