Must have a bad apple...
Well I liked this thing when I first got it but after about a month the pixels in the screen started messing up. When it gets cold, even around 50 degrees F, the pixels on most of the screen disappear and its just black. When it warms back up you can see everything but there are constant faint little lines across the screen where the pixels disappear at.
Also, people can never hear me clearly when I'm talking on the phone...I have to put it on speaker phone just so I can be understood
As far as everything else its not too bad. Occasionally it freezes up or restarts on its own.

Don't make the mistake of buying this phone.
I bought this phone originally because I liked the way it looked, thought that the Windows OS looked good, and thought it would be nice to try something new. (I had an Android before.) I have done all updates, but I still have many problems.
A list of all the problems that I have experienced:
- When a phone call is coming in, the screen will become unresponsive and I have to wait for the caller to call me again to get the screen to work.
- Flash on camera has stopped working, even when I have it in the permanent flash setting.
- When on internet, the browser will exit to the home screen or the phone will completely freeze. (This happens everyday.)
- Phone will randomly start vibrating and I have to hold power button down until it reboots.
- Phone will freeze constantly.
- If the phone goes completely dead, it is extremely hard to get charging because it has to be powered on to be charging. (This has caused 30 minutes of trying to get it charging again in the past)
- When playing a game, it will exit to the search screen constantly to the point where I don't even play games on it anymore.
- App store is a joke. Very little number of apps that are actually useful.
This phone may be good for someone who isn't on the internet all the time and just wants a good texting and calling pone that you can go on Facebook with. But for someone who is constantly on the internet and demands a lot from their phone, this is a horrible choice. I now have to take my brothers update (December 17) so I can get a phone that meets my standards. And I will definitely be going back to Android.
No, I do not recommend this product.

awesome phone

First off this is my first smartphone that I have ever owned. I never really had a need for a smartphone but with so many cool things they are able to do I figured it was time. My biggest want out of a phone was a combination phone with browsing capability, good camera, mp3 playing, touchscreen with large screen and wireless. I was able to get what I wanted with this phone. Yeah it won't upgrade to windows phone 8, I don't care. It has a nice camera which solves the concern of buying one separate. I no longer need my Zune HD mp3 player. And I finally have a nice phone that will text, has a great screen and isn't an Android or IOS based phone. I really love the way this phone works. Its very simple and easy to navigate. I have owned this phone since April of 2012 and very glad I got it instead of the iPhone which I was seriously considering buying. I would recommend people try a windows based phone, easy to migrate data onto windows based PC and live mail hotmail msn mail accounts. Sky drive is awesome. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Proslarge screen, not an apple product or andriod phone, awesome camera, lightweight, easy to use
Consa little slow at times, not as many apps that i want to use

A: Good morning! Those applications are available on the Lumia 900. For a more complete overview of the device you can go here: http://bit.ly/RIU5YY . That is a link to the user manual. you can also go to http://www.nokia.com/us-en/apps/ for a more complete list of apps available for the Lumia 900.

Q: Theoretical vs Actual Battery Life
I have viewed the details on the phone and AT&T's details list the phone's battery life as anywhere between 7 hours (talk) and 12.5 days (idle), which seem like reasonable battery life benchmarks to me, but many of the reviews state battery life as a concern or problem. My question is this; what is the actual functional time of the phone and the approximate usage level of the phone? Hourly approximations would be greatly appreciated.

Q: Can I switch the SIM card inside?
One of the reasons I stick with AT&T is because the phones still use SIM cards. Is the SIM card accessible in this phone?

Q: How to turn device off
I've somehow managed to turn my Lumia off a few times using the power button, but I'm not exactly sure how I did it. It was a rather complicated process and I made failed attempts after the 1st successful ones.

A: The lock button is the power button on the nokia 900. If you press and hold the button, it will turn off.

Q: over 2 hours to charge the phone?
Hi guys, I have charge my phone twice(the second time from a totally dead battery) on the wall charger. Is it normal for the phone to take over 2 and a half hours to charge? My iPhone4 only takes about 1 hour to charge from a (close to) dead battery.

A: Yes it is normal. It will take even longer if you are trying to use the phone while it is charging, and if you are charging it via USB on a computer.
I think as far as it taking two hours on the wall charger I think this simply has to do with the type of battery that is in this phone. It may take longer to charge because its not putting out a high amount of voltage to charge the battery compared to your iphone which may charge quicker because of a higher voltage rate traveling through the charger cord.
Also try turnimg off the phone while charging (if you are able to) because this will reduce the usage of the phone while charging and should help to speed things up somewhat.
Hope that answers your question and best of luck!

Q: Can I synch with multiple calendar sources and have all appointments show up in a single calendar view on my phone?
For example, I'd like to have appointments from my work calendar (synch with Corporate Exchange), an online social calendar (gmail calendar synch wirelessly), and my personal outlook calendar (synch via bluetooth or USB cable) consolidated so that it shows up in a single view on my phone.

A: Yes, calendars from various sources - facebook, outlook exchange, gmail, yahoo, etc.. can be consolidated into one calendar and will be color keyed in a customizable fashion that may be viewed as an agenda, to-do, day, or month.

Q: can the lumia 900 get ringtones from myxer
14 years ago
4 Answers
A: I'm not too sure about Myxer, but I do know that there are plenty of apps in the app market that perform the same function.
To browse, just go to the marketplace and type in ringtone for your search and you should find lots of apps to support what you're looking for.
Keep in mind to check out the reviews before downloading or paying for an app (if required) because some apps are useless and have bad reviews.
Good luck and I hope you find what you need.

Q: as to transfering stuff from the i-phone, can you transfer all the apps

A: Unfortunately no. Not all of your iPhone apps will work on a Windows phone, but visit the Windows marketplace as new apps are being added all the time.
