Activate your tablet or laptop using eSIM

Newer tablets and laptops use an eSIM to activate a wireless plan. Learn how to download yours.

iPads with an eSIM

If your iPad® uses an eSIM, you may be asked to install a wireless plan when you set it up. If you aren't asked, you can install one now:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select the AT&T Cellular Plan Ready to be Installed notification.
  3. Follow the prompts on your device to add a plan.

If you can't download your eSIM with these steps, activate your iPad first.

Tablets with a SIM card

If your iPad or Android® tablet uses a SIM card, it may already be activated. Just make sure the SIM is inserted.

Still no connection? Activate it now.

eSIM on Windows laptop

Complete your eSIM activation. Download and activate your eSIM directly from your laptop.

  1. Connect your laptop to Wi-Fi® and open Settings.
  2. Select Network & internet, then Cellular.
  3. Choose eSIM profiles and then Search for available profiles.
  4. Select Next and then Yes when asked ‘Download this profile?’ when an available profile appears.
  5. Follow the prompts to install your eSIM.
  6. Select the arrow in the AT&T eSIM window and find the menu with Use, Edit name and Delete.
  7. Choose Use. You’ll receive this prompt: This will use cellular data from your plan and may incur charges. Do you want to continue?
  8. Choose Yes. This will allow your laptop to use the AT&T eSIM when you aren’t connected to Wi-Fi. When AT&T displays in your network settings, you’re connected and ready to go.
