FCC mandate: unregistered carrier blocking

FCC requires that AT&T block calls from U.S. carriers that don’t have robocall prevention capabilities.

Starting September 28, 2021, the FCC has requested that AT&T block incoming calls from U.S. carriers if that originating carrier hasn’t confirmed to the FCC that they can effectively block robocalling.

Have AT&T Wireless or PREPAIDSM service? Good to know:
  • You won’t receive calls from carrier networks that haven’t registered with the FCC.
    View the full list of FCC registered carriers
  • For calls that are blocked, your phone won’t ring, and your call log won’t show the call.
  • You will be able to make calls to carriers whose incoming calls are blocked.
  • Text messaging isn’t impacted.
