Learn about changes to your account number

Updates to our billing system will change your wireless account number—but not your wireless phone numbers.

INSTRUCTIONS & INFO

We’ve recently changed our billing system. As a result, you’ll get a new 12-digit wireless account number. One of our team members will be calling you between October 3, 2022 and November 14, 2022 to assist you with this update. After your account number is changed, you’ll receive one final bill with your old account number.

Your existing wireless phone number, plan, and promotions will remain the same. However, because of the account number change, you’ll need to do several things:

  • Re-register your myAT&T online wireless account
  • Re-register for AutoPay for your wireless account
  • Re-enroll your wireless account in paperless billing
  • If previously part of the AT&T Signature Program: Re-enroll in the AT&T Signature Program
  • Update your financial institution with your new account number if you had ePay
  • Re-register your Max sign-in if you were a subscriber of Max and it was included with your wireless plan

Have questions about this account update? Call us at 866.803.5522 and we can help you set up your new account number.

Register your new wireless account number

  1. Go to myAT&T Registration.
  2. Choose Wireless.
  3. Follow the prompts to register.

Sign up for AutoPay

Did you have AutoPay with your old account number? You’ll have to sign up your new account.

  1. Go to AutoPay.
  2. Choose the account to sign up, if you have more than one.
  3. Turn AutoPay On.
  4. Follow the prompts to sign up. (You can use your bank account, debit card, or credit card to sign up).

Good to know: If you pay your AT&T bill with ePay, you’ll have to update your account number with your bank.

Sign up for paperless billing

Did you get your bill by email? Make sure to enroll your new account in paperless billing.

  1. Go to paperless billing.
  2. Choose the account to sign up, if you have more than one.
  3. Turn paperless billing On.
  4. Follow the prompts to sign up.
  5. Check your email inbox to confirm your email address and finish signing up. You'll also get an email confirmation when you're done canceling.

Re-enroll in the AT&T Signature Program

  1. Check your savings eligibility.
  2. Fill out the form.
  3. Select Check eligibility. Already enjoying AT&T Signature Program benefits? You’ll also have to sign in to your account or provide us info about your account.
  4. View your results. If you’re eligible for benefits, we'll let you know right away, or ask for documents to verify your eligibility.

FYI: If you were a subscriber of Max and it was included with your wireless plan:
