While you're writing a message, tap the Message field.
Tap the Writing tools icon.
You may need to drag up on the menu to view all Writing tool options.
Tap Proofread to have Apple Intelligence check your text for grammatical and spelling errors.
All changes are underlined with a glowing line. To view changes and an explanation for each change, tap the Up and Down Arrow at the bottom. To switch between the updated and original versions of your text, tap Original.
Tap the Check Mark icon.
To discard a change, tap Use Original. To revert to the unedited version of your text, tap Revert.
To adjust the tone of your writing, tap Rewrite.
You can select Friendly, Professional, or Concise for tones, or rewrite the text based on a description by tapping Describe your change.
Tap the Check Mark icon.
To switch between the updated and original versions of your text, tap Original. To revert to the unedited version of your text, tap Revert.
To generate a summary of the selected text, tap Summary.
You can ask Apple Intelligence to highlight the text's Key points or convert the text into a List or Table.
Tap the Check Mark icon.
To replace the original text with the summary, tap Replace. You can also tap Copy and/or Share to interact with the text.
To use ChatGPT to compose text, tap Compose.
When you first compose in Writing Tools, you may be prompted to turn on the extension. You can also set up ChatGPT in Settings.
