Install and remove the SIM and battery.

MicroSD/memory cards expand the storage capacity of device and are sold separately. This device can use a microSD card up to 128GB.
1. When the SIM card is missing, the Missing SIM icon will display in the Notification bar.

2. REMOVE BACK COVER & BATTERY: Remove the back cover of the device by untwisting the screw at the bottom of the battery cover. Remove the battery by pulling up from the notch at the top.

3. INSERT/REMOVE SIM CARD: Slide up and gently lift the SIM tray cover. Place the SIM card into the SIM tray with the metal contacts facing down and the notched edge on the bottom left. Push the SIM tray cover back down and slide down to close.

Note: The XP8 features two SIM card trays.

4. INSERT/REMOVE MEMORY CARD: Slide up and gently lift the microSD card tray cover. Insert the microSD card into the microSD tray, with the metal contacts facing down and the notched edge going in first. Push the microSD tray cover back down and slide up to close.

Note: To prevent data corruption, it is recommended to unmount your memory card before removing it. To unmount your memory card, swipe down from the Notification bar then select the Settings icon > Storage > Eject icon.

5. REPLACE BATTERY: Place the battery in the battery slot with the gold contacts on the battery lined up with the gold contacts on the phone.

6. REPLACE BACK COVER: Place the cover on the back of the phone and gently twist the screw back into place. The cover should be flush with the rest of the device.

7. ATTACH SECURE AUDIO ACCESSORIES: Line up the gold contacts on the secure audio accessory with the gold contacts on the right side of the phone, then twist the thumb screw on the accessory to fasten the accessory into place.

Note: The XP8 powers audio accessories via the handset, so no external batteries are required. Audio performance for accessories is increased when powered by the handset rather than by batteries. Accessories are sold separately.
