Secure Folder

Secure your personal content and keep it hidden on your device.

INSTRUCTIONS & INFO
  1. SETUP SECURE FOLDER: Swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the Settings icon. Scroll to and select Lock screen and security.
    Note: To set up Secure Folder, you will need a Samsung account. This tutorial shows how to set up Secure Folder if you are already logged in to a Samsung account. If you do not have a Samsung account, you will be prompted to create one.

  2. Scroll to and select Secure Folder.

  3. Review the initial prompt, then select NEXT. Select START.

  4. Select CONFIRM to allow Secure Folder to sign into your Samsung Account.

  5. Select the desired folder lock type, then select NEXT.
    Note: For this tutorial, Pattern was chosen.

  6. Enter the desired lock code, then select CONTINUE. Enter the lock code again, then select CONFIRM.
    Note: The device will take a moment to create your Secure Folder.

  7. ACCESS SECURE FOLDER: From the home screen, swipe up or down to from the center of the screen to access the Apps tray. Swipe left to and select the Secure folder app.

  8. Enter your secure lock code.

  9. USE SECURE FOLDER: From the Secure Folder screen, select Lock to lock the secure folder. Select Add apps, then select the desired apps to add to the secure folder. Select Edit apps, then select the desired app and follow the prompts to edit.

  10. ADD FILES TO SECURE FOLDER: Select Add files. Navigate to and select the desired file(s), then select DONE.
    Note: You can also add pictures from the Gallery app. Select and hold the desired picture(s) > Menu icon > Move to Secure Folder > enter your passcode. Pictures that have been moved to the Secure Folder are no longer visible in the regular Gallery. Select Secure Folder > Gallery to view them.

  11. HIDE SECURE FOLDER: Swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the Settings icon. Scroll to and select Lock screen and security.

  12. Scroll to and select Secure Folder > enter passcode > Show Secure Folder switch > HIDE.
