1. From the home screen, tap Messages.
   
2. Tap the Compose New icon.
   
3. Enter the desired phone number(s) or contact name(s).
   
4. Tap the Message field, then enter the desired message.
   
5. To attach a photo, video or other type of file, tap the Paperclip icon and then navigate to the desired file.
   
6. Tap the Send icon.
   
7. To view a received message, tap the desired message.
   
8. To reply, enter the desired message, then tap the Send icon.
   
9. To delete a message in a thread, tap and hold the desired message.
   
10. Tap Delete.
    
11. To delete a thread, tap and hold the desired thread.
    
12. Tap the Delete icon.
    
13. When a new text or picture message is received, the New Message icon will display in the notification bar
