1. From the home screen, tap the Messaging icon.
   
2. Tap the Menu icon.
   
3. Tap Settings.
   
4. To change the Notification settings, scroll to, then tap Notifications to turn it on or off.
   
5. To change the notification tone, tap Select ringtone.
   
6. Tap the desired ringtone.
   
7. Tap OK.
   
8. To change the Emergency alert settings, scroll to, then tap Receive emergency alerts.
   
9. Tap to adjust the settings as desired, then press the Back key.
   
10. To change the message center number, scroll to, then tap Service Center.
    
11. Enter the desired number, then tap OK.
