1. From any screen, swipe down from the notification bar.
   
2. Tap Settings.
   
3. Tap Device Options.
   
4. Tap System Updates.
   
5. The current software version will be displayed.
   
6. To check for new software, tap Check Now.
   
7. The device will check for updates. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to update the device.
