1. Press the Volume keys located on the side of the device to raise or lower the volume.
   
2. To enable silent mode, reduce the volume until the Silent icon appears.
   
3. When silent mode is enabled, the Silent icon will display in the notification bar.
   
4. To enable vibrate mode, reduce the volume until the Vibrate icon appears.
   
5. When vibrate mode is enabled, the Vibrate icon will display in the notification bar.
   
6. With the volume bar displayed, tap the Settings icon to access additional volume controls.
   
7. Adjust settings as desired.
