1. If you have forgotten your pattern lock, you must complete an alternate factory reset of the device. Please see the 'Reset device' tutorial under Troubleshooting for these steps. 
   Note: If a Google account was set up on the device, you will be prompted to enter that account's login and password during the device setup as a security measure.
