- Tap the Start icon or Windows button.

- To open the camera, from the Apps tray, tap Camera.

- Tap the Arrow icon at the top of the screen to access camera options.

- To switch between the front- and rear-facing cameras, tap the Change camera icon.

- Tap the Camera icon to take a picture.

- Tap and drag the Camera icon to access the custom settings for white balance, focus, ISO, shutter speed, and exposure.

- Tap the Camcorder icon to switch to video mode.

- Tap and drag the Camcorder icon to access the custom settings for white balance, focus and exposure.

- Tap the Camcorder icon to start recording a video.

- Tap the Camcorder icon to stop recording.

- Tap the picture icon on the right side of the screen to access the Camera roll.
Note: This device has a 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The video recorder is 1080p. To take a screenshot on the Surface 3, press and hold the Windows button and then pressing the Volume down button. The screen dims for a second as the image is captured. The image is saved in the Screenshots folder of the Pictures library.
