1. Tap the Start icon or Windows button.
   
2. To open the camera, from the Apps tray, tap Camera.
   
3. Tap the Arrow icon at the top of the screen to access camera options.
   
4. To switch between the front- and rear-facing cameras, tap the Change camera icon.
   
5. Tap the Camera icon to take a picture.
   
6. Tap and drag the Camera icon to access the custom settings for white balance, focus, ISO, shutter speed, and exposure.
   
7. Tap the Camcorder icon to switch to video mode.
   
8. Tap and drag the Camcorder icon to access the custom settings for white balance, focus and exposure.
   
9. Tap the Camcorder icon to start recording a video.
   
10. Tap the Camcorder icon to stop recording.
    
11. Tap the picture icon on the right side of the screen to access the Camera roll.
    Note: This device has a 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The video recorder is 1080p. To take a screenshot on the Surface 3, press and hold the Windows button and then pressing the Volume down button. The screen dims for a second as the image is captured. The image is saved in the Screenshots folder of the Pictures library.
