To set up Secure Folder, you will need a Samsung account.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

• Set up Secure Folder
• Access Secure Folder
• Use Secure Folder
• Add files to Secure Folder
• Hide Secure Folder

 

Set up Secure Folder

1. From the home screen, swipe down from the Notification bar then select the Settings icon Settings icon. 

2. Select Biometrics and security.

3. Select Secure Folder.

4. Select Agree.

Note: If prompted, enter your Samsung account password then select OK. If you are already signed into a Samsung account on your device, select CONFIRM to verify that you would like to set up Secure Folder using the Samsung account listed.

5. Select the desired folder lock type, then select Next.

Note: For this tutorial, Pattern was chosen.

6. Enter the desired lock code, then select Continue.

7. Enter the lock code again, then select Confirm.

Access Secure Folder 

After completing the Secure folder set up, the Secure Folder app will appear in your Apps tray. When you access Secure folder, you will be prompted to enter your passcode. Select the Secure Folder Secure Folder app, then enter the passcode.

Note: To access the Apps tray, swipe up from the center of the home screen.

Use Secure Folder

LOCK SECURE FOLDER: Select the menu icon Menu icon, then select Lock and exit to lock the secure folder.

ADD APPS TO SECURE FOLDER: Select the Add icon Add icon.


Select the desired app(s), then select Add.

Add files to Secure Folder

1. Select the Menu icon Menu icon, then select Add files.

2. Navigate to and select the desired file(s), then select Done.

Note: You can also add pictures from the gallery app Gallery app. Select and hold the desired picture(s) > menu icon More icon > Move to Secure Folder. Pictures that have been moved to the Secure Folder are no longer visible in the regular Gallery. Select the secure folder app Secure Folder app > enter passcode > select Gallery to view them.

Hide Secure Folder

1. From the Biometrics and Security screen in settings, select Secure Folder.

2. Select the Show icon on Apps screen switch, then select Hide.
