A real rugged phone!!
I work on boats and yachts have dropped this phone when boats where in drydock atleast 10ft off the ground on concrete, dropped in a bilge filled with water and dropped it in 12ft of water swam to get it was still working. I was checking to see if Kyocera made a new one yet. This is the only phone that is actually Rugged

Average phone with a major issue.
The phone is fantastic when it works but the issue that I have run into twice already is the fact that it does not like to charge after having it for so long. I had to have the phone replaced once already because it wouldn't charge and now the issue is starting again.
The solution I found this time is that it could be the software. So when I turn the device off and then attempt to charge it, it starts charging just fine.
As a time reference: I have had the first phone for about 4 months aSee more

Great Rugged Smartphone!
I have had this phone exactly a week and I am totally glad I picked the Duraforce XD. I was surprised to see many built in features that I did not see on the spec sheet. For example, a Barometer, Compass, Flashlight, Tide, etc. I am active outdoors and this phone gives me peace of mind if it accidentally gets dropped or wet. The most feature I am impressed with is battery life. With moderated use, such as texting and checking email, weather, etc., I can go a whole day with out charging with around 70% battery left. Although this model comes with a PTT Walkie Talkie feature, you can actually program the button for other apps and shortcuts. This is my 3rd Smartphone ever and This is the best one yet.

Rugged, but a battery hog
Needed a rugged phone for work. The main reasons I chose this phone were the 3700mah battery and large display. Size is almost identical to my 6+. Display is nice for old eyes... Not 4K, but its a phone! Believe me, it needs the huge battery. This thing is a power hog. And slow. How can a 1.6 GHz quad core processor running on the AT&T network be sluggish? It is an adequate phone that fits my need for a Class 1 Div 2 device for much cheaper than specialized handsets, but don't think you're getting something in the class of a Galaxy or iPhone. User experience is well below those devices.

An ok phone
I have had this phone for a few weeks now and I have to say it is not the best quality phone. It runs on an older android version that I have yet been able to update because I don't believe it will. It is slow and laggy at times and the front facing camera is not great at all and the rear facing camera is not all that great either. I do not take a lot of pictures anyway but the fact is the cameras are not good or great. The one I have is only a 16G storage phone and just out of the box using it after downloading a few apps I have to use I am at 8G of the memory. Some of the apps can be moved to an expandable SD card which I do have and use. I wanted this phone for the price which is great and the only reason I got a new phone is that my old phone charging port was broken. The plus side to this phone is the speaker is nice, loud and clear. The screen is great as it is a larger screen and bright. I like that it is waterproof and built as a more sturdy phone. I have not had any problems with the battery life. For a basic android phone this will work. It is not the best but the functionality is what it is.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What is the difference between the XD and the PRO?
1 Answer
A: Hello Akern!
What a great question, which I would be more than happy to answer for you! The Kyocera DuraForce XD is a slightly larger phone than the DuraForce Pro. The XD cameras are not as powerful as the front and rear facing cameras of the DuraForce Pro. The battery life of the XD lasts longer than the battery for the Pro, as well.
I hope this information helps!

Q: Does the phone receive Live Local FM Signals ( Not Streaming, But Live Local FM Signals ) using a tuner App
8 years ago
1 Answer
A: Hello comrider,
Good concerns for the FM Radio Signal!
This particular phone does not have a FM radio tuner. This is specific to the manufacturer. From reviewing the owner’s manual, it does not have any specific details about a FM tuner. You can contact Kyocera to see if they have any additional details here: http://global.kyocera.com/inquiry/index.html Search the PlayStore for 3rd party radio apps that go through data connection as well as Next radio to test it.
I’m glad to answer any questions! Have a great rest of your day!
