Good basic phone
This is a good basic phone, my wife has limited vision so “smart phone” is not an option.
Calls are clear to both parties battery lasts a long time.

Second LG B470 with life of its own
First one made calls on its own while closed.
Sound has dropped from current phone, no ringing, inaudible audio. Phone also now drops connected calls, then redials, on its own, even closed. Phone has not been abused in anyway. 6 months old. Which is about how old the first one was when it went bad.
I wish AT&T had stuck to phone service, instead of dropping 2G. My old Nokia worked flawlessly for over 10 years. But Microsoft killed real Nokia phones. Watch "The President's Analyst".

Great for teens who just can't stop.

THis sweet beast of a phone wa bought for a teenager who couldn't control his Clash of Clans addiction. No more worrying about that next turn! Now he has the sweet sweet satisfaction of flipping this bad boy open to answer it just like everyone over 30 had to years ago. Its amazing how much of a difference it made in his grades and personality also. He went from a class failing zombie to an actually productive, and might I even add, happier, alert teenager. He now has to have actual conversation with his family instead burying his head into a phone. Who knew a phone downgrade would be a kid upgrade!

Terrible battery life

I received this phone as part of the 2G sunset program. Feature wise, this is a very basic model, and lacks common features like an SD card slot, or the ability to connect the device to a PC (although it can use a micro usb cable to charge). All of that would have been fine, were it not for the phone's abysmal battery life. I clocked the phone, fresh out of the box, as going from Full charge to sounding an alarm due to low battery life in 22 hours. I did not use the phone in the intervening period. This unacceptably limits the phone's use, and is roughly 1/7 the advertised battery life of the phone.

Texting takes forever, images are so bad! the battery dies so fast, audio is just horrid, the browser is useless and might just be for show. It has bluetooth, but for what again? That's right: NOTHING!!! This thing can't even play music so what is the bluetooth for? If you want to buy this for your kid. Go ahead and ruin their lives. Texting takes hours to type something that should take seconds. If you are texting a friend and they text you while you type then you have two options; Look at what they said and delete everything you've typed or ignore the text and hope it isn't anything important. There is a reason why this phone was discontinued!

Disappointed in phone

This phone was sent to me by AT&T as an upgrade. I am now having issues accessing many of my favorites on the browser. Unfortunately AT&T has not been any help. They are saying the phone is "old" and yet I am being charged for these services that I can't access. Never could figure out the music feature. Very frustrating. I get a connection failed accessing twitter and a black screen for you tube. I can't even get a replacement from them. Also it has features that I need and can't find in other phones. "Voice keytones" It would be nice if LG and ATT would work together to upgade phone data as needed. No AT&T access 1/2 the time.
No, I do not recommend this product.

an SIM card be purchased for...

A friend of mine has this phone & is happy with it. I do not own this yet. I'm having to change phones with the new technology coming in. Can this phone upgrade to a 4g LTE with a SIM card?
I have always had an LG & prefer not to change. Also, I will need to use Verizon or ATandT to have good coverage. I basically only use text & some talk. Quit using camera on the flip I have as hardly any pixels & pictures are small, but I do have an excellent digital camera.

Q: How do I delete calls not answered. This phone is good and I only use it for outgoing calls but rarely. I never received instructions on its use for various functions.

Q: Wife washed my LG-B470 in washing machine. Caught it half way through wash cycle. Took out sim card and battery. Drying on paper towel at the moment. Can anything be salvaged. The most important is my contacts.

- A: Regrettably, there is no way to determine if anything from the SIM card that was in your LG B470 | AT&T Prepaid phone or if the battery can be salvaged. It will all depend on how much water got into the SIM card slot. If you had been able to remove either as soon as possible you might have avoided permanent damage. Although SIM cards don't have battery-powered electronics like cellphones do, prolonged exposure to water can damage the card. SIM cards have delicate electronics, but limited openings to allow water inside to damage the internal components. If you drop your SIM card in water, remove it as quickly as possible. The longer the SIM card is exposed to water, the more likely it is to be damaged. Short exposure is unlikely to cause damage to a SIM card. Immediate action is the key to saving a wet SIM card. Laying the SIM card on a dry paper towel overnight to allow it to dry completely before trying to use it in any phone is a recommended procedure. If the SIM card sits in water for more than a few minutes, put it in a bowl of uncooked rice overnight to help draw any water out of the card. The same with the battery. Try drying it out as much as possible before attempting to use it in a phone. If it hasn't dried out completely, it could short out...^IFV5 years ago
