Reasonable phone for a reasonable price.

I've had this phone for a few months from my new service provider. I had only one real requirement when I called them.; "The phone must have buttons". Touch screen systems don't work well for me.
This phone has been running well. I can get to the features I need, the alarm will easily wake me from a sound sleep, the clock keeps good time, and most importantly, I can make phone calls.
One suggestion for improved performance is that the ear piece needs to be bigger. If your ear isn't exactly over the ear holes, it can be difficult to hear the conversation. In a moving bus (our dirvers are specially trained to leave no pot hole un-hit), it can be a challenge not to miss every other word in a conversation.

I wanted to let you know the Samsung a157 is an awesome phone...even if it is a flip phone. I dropped it to the bottom of the pool today (for the second time!!!) and the little gem still works perfectly!!! It laid on the bottom for 15 minutes before I realized I had dropped it in...you have a customer for life! One day I will get a smart phone but until then My little indestructible phone is the BEST! I have dropped it sooo Many times and it still looks and works perfectly. But to withstand two times submerged in water for 15 minutes...awesome. Thanks for your fine quality product!

decent cheap phone

This is a decent phone for someone who does not need a lot of functions and just wants something to talk on. The pros for this phone are that it has a great battery life and good reception. I am on my second one after about a year cause I broke the top off the first one and have rarely ever not been able to get reception. I really wish it was bluetooth enabled for hands free talk in the car and wish it also had a volume button on the outside. All in all it is a good phone for the cheap price.

Samsung makes an incredible product.
But I cannot use, or recommend, them.
Reason: I prefer using corded headsets, to talk hands free while driving. This phone, like so many other Samsung products, do not use the industry standard 2.5mm/3.5mm headset jack.
Samsung does not include a micro USB to 3.5mm adapter, nor do they sell them.
Therefore, this otherwise excellent phone is useless - a shame, because I need to replace my Wife's phone, but she too, prefers to use corded headsets over bluetooth.
