Love this device-it's so much more than a phone

I was waiting for this phone to be upgraded to Android 4.0 ICS. Went to the AT&T store and found out the up-grade could be done over the phone (much easier than my Samsung Captivate upgrade last year.) I bought it
immediately upon learning that although still waiting for the upgrade.
Love the larger beautiful screen, had many people ask about it. Coming from the Captivate the software is about the same but with added features. I use the S Memo alot for notes, point schedules etc. Love it.
The camera is awesome, took some great pics on the lake last week and am using 1 for my wallpaper. When I find a good waterfall, that will be my next pic. Really clear pics and the colors are so true even in bright sunshine. I've only done 1 video but the picture and sound were great, it was a meeting for about 1 hour.
The size is another favorite of mine as I can text w/o so
many errors and use the stylus. I don't use the phone alot and when I do I usually use the speaker which is clear. No problem holding it to my ear for a private conversation. Bluetooth was the easiest yet to connect on my car.
I keep a car charger and regular charger that came with it and don't have a problem with the battery life. Charges from 19% to 100% in about 2 hours with the phone on.
My AT & T rep set my phone up for me and gave me some great apps to add.
I'll be keeping this phone for quite awhile, it has everything I need and looks great. I added a Popalicious cover in red which looks great and protects the back cover somewhat - not that it needs protection.
Had to add unlimited texting as it is so much easier and fun now with this phone.
I use the speak now feature alot and although it doesn't audibly answer you as the I-phone does, I get my answers right away and am impressed at what it can find out for you.
Love it, love it, love it.

A toy not meant for business use

After having successfully settup over a dozen different smartphones to sync on my enterprize exchange server for outlook, I can honestly say that this one has been the most difficult. May have to give up, rendering the device useless to me.

It's a great phone, but dimensions are too big, need to have a more "Pocketable" phone

Let me preface this review by saying that to others reading this review, this is probably not an accurate representation of most people's opinions. Then again, I am not like most people in that there are certain requirements of a phone that a device has to meet with me, or else it's not a workable situation.
I bought this phone about a week ago. The screen is incredible and amazing. And the phone is easily fast enough for me, no problem there. I use a phone for mostly calling and texting, and some light internet usage.
I am not a typical phone user whereas most people play games or watch movies on their phone I don't use a phone for those functions at all. I prefer to use my tablet for all of that.
This device takes incredible pics. Took a few just to see. Just wish that there was not so much garbage and bloatware loaded up on this phone, most of this I would never use.
After a few days of using this phone, I have decided to return it, based on a couple of key points of criteria:
First off, Battery Life. I already have a newer and smaller Galaxy that has poor battery life, and needs to be charged every day, even with light phone usage. Even though this Note is a little better with battery usage, it's not better by much, even with shutting down all the running applications, the battery still drains too fast.
2nd area of concern, is the port for the charger. for some reason, trying to plug the charger in is not nearly as easy as my current Galaxy. I have read several reviews where the charging port fails after a while, and I just didn't want to take the chance. Yes, I know, it's not really fair to criticize the phone if I have not had issues with something, but being that I have dealt with poorly designed phones before that have had charging ports that become defective, I just don't want to deal with this issue again.
I am returning the phone mostly because the phone is too large for me. I prefer a phone that fits into my pocket easily. And I thought if I put a case on this phone, which I was about to order the OtterBox case, then the phone would be even larger and more difficult to put into a front pocket, or take to the gym, or use in the car.
I also like to be able to hold a phone securely in one hand as I dial and text with my thumb. I have average sized hands. I just prefer something that I can maintain easier.
So why did I buy the phone? Incredible price, and that screen is so eye-catching! I realized after using this for a few days, I will go to a device with a smaller screen, probably 4.5 inches max or a little larger than that. Probably will buy the Samsung Galaxy Express prepaid phone from AT&T. Yes the Express won't be as good in several areas, such as memory, camera, and the screen is not HD, etc., but it's much more "Pocketable" as well as the smaller dimensions also make it easier to operate with just 1 hand. These large HD displays have a tendency to drain the battery too fast.
Yes, the review is not really a fair review. The Note is a great phone. Mostly I just need a smaller device that's easier to handle and to operate with 1 hand.

I've been using this phone for two years! It's an amazing phone, it's never let me down and has never really slowed down, for being 2 years old I can still impress people with it's features. My contract ends in January and I am definitely upgrading to the Note 3. This phone has sold me 100% on staying in the family.

The product is great, overall. I see the camera does not have a flash option. Is this intentional or did I miss it? I am still getting the feel of the device but it is great thus far!
