1. To view the current software version and check for updates, swipe in from the right edge of the Start screen, then tap Settings.
   
2. Tap Change PC settings.
   
3. To view the current OS version, from the "PC settings" screen, tap PC and devices.
   
4. Tap PC info, and you will now be able to view which version of Windows your device is running.
   
5. To update your phone?s OS, from the Start screen, swipe from right to left to access the Charm bar, then tap Settings.
   
6. Tap Change PC settings.
   
7. From the "PC settings" screen, tap Update and recovery.
   
8. Tap Windows update.
   
9. Tap Install.
   
10. Tap Restart now.
