Use the original charger and battery to maintain optimal battery performance over the life of your device. The battery comes partially charged. Battery life and charge cycles vary by use and settings.
View battery usage
1. From the home screen, click the Battery icon on the taskbar then click Battery settings.

From the Battery screen, click the Battery saver switch.
Turn off auto-updates for apps
1. From the home screen, click the Microsoft Store app.
2. Click the Menu icon, then click Settings.

3. Click the Update apps automatically when I'm on Wi-Fi switch to place it in the Off position.
Turn off unused services
BLUETOOTH: From the Windows Settings screen, click Devices.
Note: Click the Start icon, then click the Settings icon to access Windows Settings.
Click the Bluetooth & other devices tab, then click the Bluetooth switch to place it in the Off position.

Action Center icon > Expand > Bluetooth to enable or disable Bluetooth.

Activate Airplane mode
If you are traveling and do not have access to mobile or Wi-Fi networks, turn on Airplane mode. From the Network & Internet settings screen, click the Airplane mode tab then click the Airplane mode switch to place it in the On position.
Note: Alternately, click the Action Center icon > Expand > Airplane mode to enable or disable Airplane mode.
Change display settings
To extend battery life, set the screen to a lower brightness. From the System Settings screen, click System then click the Display tab. Click and drag the Brightness slider to the left to lower the screen brightness as desired.
