- SET A SECURITY LOCK: Swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the Settings icon.

- Select Lock screen and Security, then select Screen lock type.

- Select the desired screen lock type.
Note: For this demonstration "Fingerprints" was selected. If you choose Pattern lock and do not set up a Fingerprint backup, you will have to reset your device if you forget your pattern. See the Reset Device tutorial for alternate reset instructions.
- Select CONTINUE.

- Select a Backup lock type, then follow the on-screen prompts to set up.

- Place your finger on the Home button and then lift it off. Repeat the process until complete, moving the finger slightly each time.

- Once you have finished registering your fingerprint, select the desired notification settings then select DONE.

- ADD ADDITIONAL FINGERPRINTS: From Lock screen and security, select Fingerprints.
Note: You will be prompted to enter your back up lock type.
- Select Add fingerprint and follow the on-screen prompts.

- REMOVE FINGERPRINTS: From the Fingerprints screen, select EDIT.Â
Note: You will be prompted to select REMOVE again to confirm.
- Select the desired fingerprint, then select REMOVE.

- CHANGE LOCK SCREEN TIMEOUT: From the Lock screen and security screen, select Secure lock settings.

- Select Secured lock time.

- Select the desired option.
