Set up and manage your eSIM.

The iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max use an eSIM. For more information on eSIMs, visit here. To use dual SIMs, you will need two eSIMs on separate plans. If you are setting up your eSIM for the first time and your old device has a physical SIM card, you will have to transfer it to the iPhone 14's eSIM. To transfer your SIM to an eSIM, go to AT&T support article Bring Your Own Device or Phone (BYOD) to AT&T. From the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) site you can activate your eSIM or transfer your physical SIM's number to the eSIM on the device. Your device will not be able to connect to cellular services until you activate your eSIM or Transfer your current line of service to your eSIM. To activate your eSIM, select Activate my unlocked device to activate your eSIM and follow the prompts. To transfer your current line of service to your eSIM, select Move my number to a different device and follow the prompts.

Set up eSIM during Device Setup

1. To turn iPhone on, press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo displays.

Note: Before setting up your device, make sure you have completed the online activation process. Please see Activate phone, SIM card, or other device for more information. Device setup steps will vary slightly based on the options selected. iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 ProMax uses an eSIM. For more information on eSIMs, read the AT&T support article eSIM Activation Guide. If your device has already been set up and you'd like to start over, read the Apple support article How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups.

2. You'll see "Hello" in different languages. Swipe up to continue.

Note: If you're blind or have low vision, you can turn on VoiceOver or Zoom from the Hello screen. To find your IMEI/MEID and ICCID, select info icon Info icon in the lower right corner of the screen.

3. Select your language.

4. Select your country or region.

Note: This affects how information will look on your device, including date, time, contacts, and more.

5. Review the Quick Start prompt. Select Set Up Manually to set up your iPhone manually.

Note: Quick Start is a feature that allows you to transfer data and content from an old device to your new one during set up. On your old device select Continue > hold up your new iPhone to the camera of the old phone > enter the old device's passcode on your new device.

6. Select the desired Wi-Fi network then follow the prompts to connect. Or if you're setting up iPhone with active cell service, you can select Continue Without Wi-Fi.

Note: Get help activating AT&T cell service or if you can't connect to Wi-Fi.

7. After connecting to a Wi-Fi network, your device will automatically attempt to activate it's eSIM and connect to the AT&T Cellular network. You will receive a prompt saying your device is activated, select Continue.

Note: The iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 ProMax use an eSIM. You will need to activate your device's eSIM or transfer your active line of service to your new iPhone's eSIM. 8. Follow the prompts to continue setting up your device.

Set up eSIM after Device Setup

1. From the home screen, select the Settings app Settings app. Select Celullar, then select add eSIM.

2. Your device will automatically attempt to activate it's eSIM and connect to the AT&T Cellular network. You will receive a prompt saying your device is activated, select Continue.

Manage cellular plans

To switch between cellular plans, from the Cellular screen, select the desired plan then edit settings as desired.

Switch cellular plan for phone call

From the Keypad in the phone app Phone app, select the current line then select the desired line.

Note: While on the current line, incoming calls to the other line will route straight to voicemail.

Switch cellular plan for message

When composing a message in the messages app Messages app, select the current line then select the desired line.

Erase eSIM

From the Cellular menu in Settings, select the desired eSIM number. Select Delete eSIM.

Note: You will be prompted to select Delete eSIM to confirm. For more information, visit Using Dual SIM with an eSIM.
