Change your device access code

Learn how to make your gateway access code easier to remember and help protect your network from unwanted users.

Set a custom device access code

If someone connects to your network, they can use the default access code to lock you out or make other changes without you knowing. Create a custom device access code to add an extra layer of protection.
  1. Go to your gateway settings.
  2. Select Settings, then System Info, then Access Code.
  3. Enter the current Device Access Code.
  4. Select Use a custom access code.
  5. Complete these fields:
    • Enter New Access Code - create a new access code
    • Confirm New Access Code - reenter your new access code
    • Enter an Access Code Hint - set up a hint in case you forget your access code
  6. Select Save.
