Set up, manage, and use SplitPay

With SplitPay, other users on your account can pay their share of the bill. This includes other lines and devices assigned to a group.

If you have multiple people on your account, you may be eligible for SplitPay. When you sign up, you’ll choose a primary payer and any additional payers. Here’s how:

  1. Go to AT&T SplitPay. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Select the primary payer. This is the person who makes sure the bill is paid each month.
  3. Choose the wireless lines you also want to be payers.
  4. Select Assign lines/devices to choose additional devices for a particular payer, creating a group. (This payer will get a text for all lines and devices in their group.)
  5. Select Continue and follow the prompts to finish up.

Keep in mind:

  • The account holder is still responsible for making sure the total bill is paid on time. If it’s not, a late payment fee will be added to the bill and wireless service on the account may be suspended.
  • Devices that can’t receive text messages, like wearables and tablets, should be assigned to the primary payer or another payer.
  • You can’t use SplitPay if you’re enrolled in AutoPay with a credit card. If you change your AutoPay method to a bank account or debit card, you may be eligible for SplitPay.

After setting up SplitPay, staying in control of all the payments made towards your bill is simple. You can:

FYI: If you change your SplitPay setup, you’ll see those changes at the start of your next bill period.

SplitPay makes it easy to pay your share of the bill. Here’s how it works:

  • AT&T will send a text to each payer at the beginning of each bill cycle.
  • The text will include the payer's portion of the bill, pay-by date, and a link to pay.
  • Select the link from the text to pay on AT&T's secure site without having to sign in.

When the payer completes the payment, a confirmation will be sent to the account holder.

FYI: Once the pay-by date passes, the links to make a payment will expire.
