Verify that a SIM works with 4G HSPA+ or 4G LTE data

Make sure your SIM card is compatible with your device.


Check SIM number to confirm compatibility

Have an older SIM or one you didn’t get from us? Or did you move an active SIM to a new device? If so, you’ll want to check the SIM number to make sure it’s compatible with our 4G service.
  • You can find the SIM number on the credit card–sized SIM holder and on the SIM card itself. 
  • If your SIM card is active, be sure to turn off your device before removing it. 

Compatible SIM

A compatible SIM or eSIM card will display 25, 26, 27, or 28 in the ninth and tenth digits spots. For example, 89014103279999999999.


Incompatible SIM

An incompatible SIM will display 21, 22, 23, or 24 in the ninth and tenth digit spots. For example, 89014103249999999999. Have an incompatible SIM card? You’ll have to get a new one for 4G.
