Set up AT&T Mobile Security & AT&T Call Protect

Already have one of these apps on your device? You can activate the services from either app. To get access to all features, make sure to download both.

Get Mobile Security for:

Get Call Protect for:

After you install both apps:
  1. Open AT&T Mobile Security or AT&T Call Protect.
  2. Enter your wireless number, and select Continue. If you’re eligible, we’ll send you a free text with a PIN.
  3. Enter the PIN in the app.
  4. Tap Verify.
  5. Review details and accept the Terms & Conditions.

Good to know: When you download and activate the Mobile Security app, Call Protect's network-based features are automatically enabled for incoming calls - even if you don’t have the app.

Downgrade, deactivate, or uninstall the apps

Uninstalling the Mobile Security & Call Protect apps doesn’t remove the services from your account. It also won’t deactivate network-based fraud blocking or stop billing for AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect Plus. First, remove the services from your account through myAT&T or from either app. Then, uninstall the apps from your device.

If you want to opt out of fraud call blocking and spam alerts for good:
  1. Go to your myAT&T account overview and select My wireless.
  2. Choose one of the following:
    • On a smartphone: Tap Manage devices & features, and then tap the phone you want to opt out for.
    • On a tablet or computer: Scroll to and select the phone you want to opt out for. Select Manage my device and then select Get or manage add-ons.
  3. Choose AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect.
  4. Select Opt out of AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect to stop fraud call blocking.

iPhone

Downgrade from Mobile Security & Call Protect Plus
  1. Go to Settings in Mobile Security or Call Protect.
  2. Tap Account and then Change Service.
  3. Choose AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect $0.00.
  4. Select Lock Plus Features, then Lock. You’ll get a message confirming that you’re now using the free version.

Stop billing for Mobile Security & Call Protect Plus
  1. Go to your iPhone Settings.
  2. Scroll to and tap iTunes & App Store.
  3. Choose Apple ID and then View Apple ID.
  4. Enter your Apple ID and password.
  5. Select Subscriptions and then AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect.
  6. Choose Cancel subscription and then Confirm

This removes the Mobile Security and Call Protect Plus subscription from your account. You’ll still have access to all free features from both services.

Remove the basic service
  1. Go to Settings in Mobile Security or Call Protect.
  2. Tap Account and choose Remove Service.
  3. Confirm that you want to remove AT&T Mobile Security and Call Protect.
  4. Tap Remove to finish up.

After you stop billing and remove the services, you can uninstall the apps from your iPhone.

Android

Downgrade from Mobile Security & Call Plus
  1. Go to Settings in Mobile Security or Call Protect.
  2. Tap Account, then AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect $0.00.
  3. Choose Lock PLUS features.

This removes the Mobile Security and Call Protect Plus subscription from your account. You’ll still have access to all free features from both services.

Remove the basic service
  1. Go to Settings in Mobile Security or Call Protect.
  2. Tap Account and then Remove Service.
  3. Select AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect.
  4. Tap Remove. The app will confirm it’s removed.

After you stop billing and remove the services, you can uninstall the apps from your device.
