q10-What you should know

1.First and for most, to me the best attribute of Q10 is its crystal clear call quality, speaker and sound that incomparable to any other device
2.always great reception
3.long battery life, plus battery is replaceable , so i will always have battery that can hold charge up to 2 days
4.build quality, strong and pleasant to the touch, it feels very nice in the hands, made of premium materials
5,keyboard buttons, it feels much better typing on actual buttons, plus there is bunch of shortcuts that touchscreen don't have

ui is smooth
browser is super fast
camera features are nice
hub is useful
swipe features are clever
native apps looks great
cons- not all the downloaded apps from bb world work well
if you are coming from iOS things you will like
great reception, call quality, hub for all notifications, faster typing experience, longer battery life, buid quality is more sturdy, better security of the platform( to whom it matters)
thinks you won't like- you want like preinstalled apps like maps, fb, ln, twitter, whatsapp- they all don't run as smooth as on iOS, also some big name apps missing- instogramm, Netflix, vine, viber, bank apps
You won't be able to sync through cloud to your macbook or iPad.
you won't have siri, even thou there's pretty good voice commend app, but it is not as polished as siri
if you are coming from previous gen bb
you will like- speed, speed, speed- this ui is much faster, browser is super fast compared to older bb, you will get more apps, better screen resolution, a bit bigger screen, same quality battery life, 4G speed, better camera, hub
you won't like making an adjustment to new user interface, you will be missing trackpad and dedicated call buttons at first, you won't like some modifications to apps, you will find some shortcuts from older bb missing.
if you are coming from Android (sg)
You will like buid quality, you will love call quality and you will be amazed by battery life, you will like having familiar features like nfc. you will like having hdmi port, expendable memory, you will like typing on keyboard and keyboard shortcuts. you will like new ui, and security features of blackberry- being able to decide what type of personal info each app can get, and protected privacy of bb communication.
you won't like Size ( its much different from galaxy) , you won't like not having some apps, and having some that don't work as good as on android,
I recommend this phone to everyone, as long as you are informed about what it does great and what it not.

Buggy and poorly designed!!

I bought this phone ten months ago and I hate it. I was looking for a phone with a physical QWERTY keyboard, and this was the only one I could find. After watching some youtube reviews and reading some on the ATT website, I decided to give it a try. I regret doing so.
I want to start this review with the things that I LIKE about the phone. Obviously, the QWERTY keyboard was the main feature for me. It's just big enough to be comfortable in my hands and the keys feel natural to use. After a while, my spacebar started getting a little worn and didn't "click" very much like the rest, but still worked. I like that the spacebar can be used for scrolling, and holding the "shift key" (or UP arrow) while pressing the spacebar makes it scroll up. The less I have to use the touch screen, the better.
The gesture system was ace. While a little confusing at first, once I got the hang of it, I was able to navigate the phone at mach five (not really, but you get the idea.) Swiping bottom up on the screen "minimized" the programs you had open, and you can switch between them or close them out easily from there. Swiping from the left brought me to my text messages, and swiping from the left again opened the hub where I could view things like notifications and email. Swiping top down brings out what I like to call "quick settings". From here, with one tap, I can switch wifi usage on/off (which helps a TON when you are at home, saves not only data usage but your phone will connect faster), turn my phone on silent/vibrate, toggle my alarm, and access my settings.
Now, here is why I DON'T like this phone.
First and probably foremost- THE BATTERY DOES NOT FIT PROPERLY. I just can't see how this made it past QA. I tried fitting a business card underneath the battery to hold it steady, but the phone will still turn off and reset when I set it on a table or even drop it in my pocket. The battery is jostled loose. WHY BLACKBERRY?!? Why did this design flaw even make it to the market?! I am so disappointed. It makes me distrust Blackberry as a company, and I don't think I'll be buying from them again, now knowing the carelessness that was put into this product.
Another problem I have with this phone is that it is the buggiest I have ever seen.
THE DEFAULT BROWSER DOES NOT WORK. It loads a page 90%. Then it stops. I can scroll up and down the page, but that's it. I cannot click any links nor interact with the page in any way. Sometimes, it does not even load the page at all. I am forced to use a third-party browser, and the only functional one on BBW is called Boat-Browser Mini. It is a high-resource-using browser from some Asian programmers, and tends to crash if the page is too big, but at least it works.
Now this may sound like a minor gripe, but the browser really does affect the usage in the rest of your phone. See, anytime you try to view a link or video someone sends you in a text or over facebook, it automatically opens it up in the browser (which doesn't load it.) Speaking of the Facebook app, it's unimpressive. Sometimes when trying to view comments, it freezes up and you can't close out of the still-loading comment box and you have to close out the app. It also doesn't load photos in comments. It still shows my old name, even though I changed it 7 months ago (on the website it is correct, but when commenting on things on the app, sometimes it displays my old name, sometimes it displays the current. It seems entirely confused about it.)
The notifications on the Q10 have never been helpful. It keeps telling me I need to update my password for my email. My email is accessed just fine. Yet I keep getting notifications about it being wrong. No, Blackberry, YOU'RE wrong.
Seriously, don't get this phone. Maybe it does have a beloved QWERTY keyboard, but it is far too frustrating to use, and is NOT worth the price.

Although I prefer the trackball of my old Blackberry, the touch screen and speed of this Blackberry, along with all the other features of this device are outstanding. I am able video chat with my wife and the BBM Voice Quality is outstanding. I am looking forward to this OS and getting the Blackberry Classic when I can, but for those that have never had a Blackberry, this phone is one you should definitely try.
Prosbattery life, Camera/Video Quality, Durable, Good For Texting, Wi-fi Capability

It's not a toy

I have three email accounts and need access to each. I travel a lot and need a device that can maintain a charge for 2-3 days and be used at the same time. This device is a tool not a toy so the games and other features have no place on my agenda.
1. The BlackBerry Hub feature is great as it makes sure I don't miss any communications across my three email accounts.
2. The keyboard enables me to minimize errors when communicating (something I'm not able to do with my iPhone5).
3. If properly configured this device seems to run forever. When I have an extended trip I simply charge extra batteries and snap a fresh one in every couple of days. May phones are locked and you simply can't insert a fresh battery. No real need for a camel back or other device.
4. There are plenty of applications out there for what I need, however more would be appreciated.

Nothing can beat the physical keyboard. This is the most productive phone I have used. If you want to be quick at work (emails, calendar, contacts) Blackberry should be your choice #1.

I've had Blackberry's since the 2nd week they were introduced in North America. A couple of years ago, I decided that RIM was going out of business, so I'd better jump in with the heard and get an Android. Got a top of the line Sony phone, and its an excellent device...but... the reality is I cant use a screen keyboard, nor do I need 100,000 'Apps' to waste my time with. Finally got so frustrated with typos and predictive words, and even the text to voice, I went back to Blackberry. Initially for the physical keyboard I was so use to, but then I realized how sophisticated the Q10 actually is...even compared to the Sony Experia or the iPhone 6. The Q10 supports ALL of the protocols that these other phones do not. I found this far more important than 'Apps', in that it interfaces with other devices. Listen to music using your smartphone? The Q10 supports something called aptX, which is a lossless audio format for bluetooth. With aptX bluetooth headphones, music sounds 5x better. Theres another protocol called MAP, fully integrates the connection for a modern car 'entertainment system'. This goes far beyond just making calls and streaming music, if a text or email comes in, it not only reads it to you, you can respond with voice to text. No need to ever text while driving. It also supports HD voice, a new high quality voice service that AT&T is deploying...takes all of the background noise out. Again, all included, whereas neither Andriod nor iPhone include all of this by default. And the data security is state of the art. Yes, Blackberry has had it problems, and made some of the dumbest business decisions ever, and its not in vogue with the hoard...the product is far superior for those of us that use a smartphone as a tool to earn income, and not as an expensive toy. I'm ready to buy a Blackberry Passport now!

Q: blackberry.net email I have heard that Blackberry 10 has done away with Blackberry's Enterprise Email; the xxxxx@att.blackberry.net email address. . . is this true?? I use that email for quite a lot and would hate to give it up if I were to upgrade.

You can create the forwarding rule on the BlackBerry 10 device, or by visiting a site hosted by BlackBerry for AT&T customers. If applicable, ensure that the BlackBerry ID for setting up the device does not use this address. Choose another one because any "lost my password" type emails will not be reachable unless you can re-activate your old BlackBerry 7 (or earlier device).
