Goodbye iPhone
Been using a iPhone since the 3 came out. Before i got my 4S I tried a HTC Inspire 4G. Absolutely HATED it, So i took it back and ordered a iPhone 4S. Had the phone for about a year and decided to upgrade to this new phone the HTC One X. I have been on this phone for about 6 hours now and have not put it down. Has all the same apps plus more in the Google Play market. If you have an iPhone and have an upgrade coming, UPGRADE TO THE HTC ONE X ... Hands Down, ALL iPhone users will love this! A+++

Overall terrbile experience with this phone.
I was really excited when this phone came out. I had been doing my research and was really blown away the first time I turned this phone on. That is when the issues started. The screen and sound quality on this phone are amazing, but thats about where the pros end.
This phone forced me to resend about one out of every five text messages I sent out. I am a heavy texter, this was a huge waste of time for me. This was probably in part due to the fact that this phone in general had terrible reception compared to iPhones, blackberries, and other androids that I have used in the past.
My other big issue was that HTC removed the dedicated menu button on the phone. If you are at all familiar with most android devices, one of the four dedicated buttons on the phones is usually a menu button. HTC created this phone with three dedicated buttons, removing the menu button forcing you to hunt for the option on screen any time you needed to access that menu.
If you are looking for a phone that looks great, but doesn't function properly than this will be a great buy for you! For people that need a functioning phone, I would recommend something from Samsung or Apple over this product.

Good Phone, Some apps affect the phone's functionality
12 years ago
I have had this phone for almost two years. I switched from the HTC Aria, which at the time was the smallest Android available, and in retrospect, I needed more screen.
This phone has been great, but I've noticed some issues. Some apps (Specifically those that mess with settings like airplane mode and ringtone volume) tend to make this phone buggy. Once I uninstalled those, I found the bugs to be gone. Some of the bugs I noticed were in the text messaging, (messages would get held up,and when whatever was wrong cleared up they'd all send, even though the phone already said they were sent days before) and the passcode for the phone not recognizing keyboard strokes. (You press keys but nothing happens) The trade off is not having an app that will automatically adjust those settings, which is a bit of a let down. I suspect it's the app programming and not the phone, but I hope to see those features inherent on an upcoming Android or Phone interface (I prefer the android platform to iOS, so I'll be patient)
I also noticed that for some reason, when I use the GPS function, even though I've exited and closed the app, something continues to run, causing the battery to drain and the phone to get warm. If I turn the phone off and then on again, all is good, but it's kind of a big deal when you've used Maps to get somewhere you plan on being for a while, and you find that your phone is nearly dead after an hour. This could be another 'cross app' bug, because I didn't notice it immediately, but in the last 6 mos. or so, it's happened every time I've used Google Maps.
I was a little apprehensive about losing the expandable memory, but I have a lot of songs on the phone and a fair amount of data, and the memory has worked for me, but I anticipate as time goes on, I will really start to miss the expandable memory. Also, factory resets may cause you to lose all your data, and that makes troubleshooting wonky apps a bit of a time killer. (backing up to a second device, and reloading, or just picking suspected apps and uninstalling piecemeal)
I also noticed the phone does have problems switching from 4G to low bandwidth WIFI and back. Again, Powering the phone down helps, but it's something to remember. (I have a workspace with both weak 4G and WIFI, which makes this a huge issue for me.)
All in all, call quality is strong-I've maybe dropped one call, and it was in the middle of a campground, where service was spotty anyway. Data works well, given the above challenges, and the interface is very easy to use, and attractive to look at.
One of my favorite functions is the ability to block callers from the contact list. This isn't a widely known function and a huge help for those companies that ignore DNC lists. I create a contact and give it a snarky name and just add the caller to that contact, and no more calls!
Prosdisplay, beats audio
Consbattery life, inability to tie settings to calendar (i.e. dnd)
Yes, I recommend this product.

Camera no longer works and I am stuck with it for another year
12 years ago
I bought this phone to see if the Android system lived up to its hype. I've been pretty so so about it until the camera went south. No matter what I try, I get discolored and ugly pixelated photos. I am not due for an upgrade for another 10 months. I expect a bit more for the cost. Sorry HTC One X. You went from so-so to never again.

The best phone I've ever used
I've had this phone since April, so a grand total of five months, and i have not been disappointed. I can truly do multiple things at once and i have been so productive with it during the school year and stayed in contact when away on vacation. The only problem I've had is that occasionally it won't recognize the SIM card and i have to restart it a few times. other than that this phone is much much better than any other phone i've tried.
Prosexcelent battery life, great camera, excellent call quality
Conswon't recognize sim card
Yes, I recommend this product.

Awesome phone
There is nothing I do not like about this phone. I've read other reviews, and can not relate to the negative remarks. The battery life is not unacceptable, I would say average. The large display is beautiful, and the sleek design is killer. Best looking phone out there! I have used this phone for almost one year with zero problems! Wireless transfer of photos to desktop or printer is a cinch. Camera and all the options exceed expectations. Apps download and function perfectly. I love this phone and plan to keep using it for a long time. HTC One x is a masterful creation.

Q: i have an htc inspire would this be a good fit?

A: Yes it actually would. The Android looks different but pretty much has the same functions plus some new ones. Since the inspire had some internal issues this phone would be a step up.
