Too dumb to be smart phone, too smart to be dumb..
I have had this phone for a year and I HATE it. My job provides an I-phone but I still wanted to keep my personal cell phone number for friends and family to call/text me. I downgraded my plan to get a dumb phone. I went with the Xpression over a flip phone because of the slide out keyboard. The Xpression has some "smart" phone features but they are very archaic and useless. The screen lock is the most annoying feature I've ever experienced. This phone constantly butt dials and when you get a caSee more

Great quick messaging phone
I got this phone today as a replacement for my Pantech Renue. I used to own the first LG Xpression. So, when I bought this phone, it was not totally new to me. I like the blue color and how the buttons are spaced more widely apart than on the previous Xpression. The physical appearance of the interface looks much nicer than on the first generation of this device. The speaker volume is alright. It is not the best, but it will work okay. I like how LG got rid of the Play Music command on this generation of the phone. It did not work properly on the red Xpression. This phone was easy to set up and I like the fact that it does not require a data plan. LG did well with redesigning the plastic case of this phone. It is much easier to hold in the hand and it does not feel like you are going to drop it. The battery life is pretty good. I am not a heavy talker, texter, or web surfer. So, the battery lasts a few days for me. All in all, I love this phone and I recommend it to anyone who wants a quick messaging phone.

Literally the worst. Ever
I have had this phone for about 8 months now; I "upgraded" from an older Samsung that worked great, but had started to malfunction due to age and wear and tear. This phone is terrible. At least 1/3 of the calls I made get dropped due to my phone hitting the hang up on the touch screen, even when the phone is LOCKED and the touch screen is not supposed to work. Furthermore, the texting function is just awful, awful, awful. The phone can only hold about 200 text messages before they all have to be deleted, so I am constantly deleting messages with is a pain and time consuming. Also, in group texts, only the phone number of the sender shows up, even if they are in my phone book, so I never have any clue who is texting me. Furthermore, the threaded messages screen for any particular texting conversation was so idiotically designed that if a message is longer than 4 lines, it is impossible to read the bottom of the message. Only the top can be seen. Good luck guessing what your friends were trying to tell you, because that is what I have had to do. Also, there is no way to open up "saved" message drafts (even though they let you save them), so texts need to be sent right away. Lastly, and perhaps worst of all, this phone constantly makes inadvertent phone calls to random numbers in my phone book, even when the phone is "locked" and the calling function shouldn't work. I have inadvertently called people who I haven't spoken to in years at 3:00 in the morning because of this flaw. This phone is literally the worst. THE WORST.

A: Hello Tristen270,
Absolutely! The LG Xpression 2 is definitely a great compact phone which has up to date features including web browsing. In order to connect to the Internet, it would be best to make sure you have a compatible plan which has data.
Thank you for letting me answer this for you! Have a wonderful day!

Q: I have purchased a new 2017 Ford Taurus and my old phone with AT&T will not work with the voice commands. I am looking at the LGXpression as an update but would like to be sure it is compatible with Sync 3 in my new Ford.

A: Hi cbritt,
Congratulations on your new car! It is always so much fun to figure out all the new features, I know I love to.
The LG Xpression 2 is a great phone but will not sync with your Taurus. I do apologize for the inconvenience.
While researching this I did find a helpful website. https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-technology/all/phone/phones-compatible-with-sync.html The website does not list the 2017 Ford Taurus but if you use the 2016 with the Sync 3 it will be the same compatible devices.
Hope this helps you with your phone decision!

Q: I see conflicting answers here. One answer says this is a smartphone; another answer says it is not. Which is it? If it is not a smart phone, that would mean I don't have to have a data plan for it, right?
1 Answer
A: Hey there CPioneer!
Being able to know if a phone is a smart phone or not can be super important when choosing your next device! I’ll be happy to clear up any issues.
While the LG Xpression 2 is not classified as a smartphone, within our system it is classified as such, due to the fact it can surf on webpages. It would need a data plan enabled on the line in order to receive picture messages as well.
I hope this clears up the confusion!

A: Hello brittney1992!
What a great question, I would love to answer it for you!
Right now it does appear that we are only offering the LG Xpression 2 in blue. I did some research and it doesn’t look like it will be offered in another color in the future.
I hope this helps out!

Q: I am trying to order the phone but it tells me I need to choose a voice plan. What is that? I am needing the phone for my daughter for texts and calls only

A: Hi there Mom momer!
Great question! With this phone, when you purchase it online, it does require a compatible voice plan. We do have a $30 plan which includes unlimited talk and text. This plan will be only $25 if you enroll in AutoPay. This not only gives you the discount but also provides ease of mind knowing your account will be refilled each month automatically.
Thanks for asking!

Q: Have they fixed the issue of the phone being unlocked when answering the call?
1 Answer
A: Hello, SBCville.
One of the things we strive to accomplish is making sure any known issues have been fully resolved. Based on my information, there was an update pushed out for the Xpression 2 to improve performance and functionality. This would mean if you wanted to purchase the phone, once it is activated the update would be received by the device and have it running properly in no time.
Hope this helps!

Q: Does this phone require internet
1 Answer
A: Hi there Anve,
Thank you for posting your question about the LG Xpression 2!
Since this LG model is considered a basic non-smartphone, a data plan is not required to use it on the AT&T network.
Most of AT&T plans now include talk, text and data as a package. There is a good possibility that if you are not currently on an old plan that doesn’t include data, when you set up service for the device the plans you have to choose from will include data.
Thanks,

Q: Would this be a good phone for a 10 yr old? I want him to be able to play games but don't want all the other stuff that smart phones have.

A: Salutations Kid question,
I hope you’re well and thanks for reaching out!
This phone has the game Little Big City available and a 3-inch touchscreen that may give you the feel of a smartphone.
I recommend stopping by one of our retail store locations to get a hand-on feel to see if this is the right device for you and your ten year old. Please feel free to check out our store locator at https://www.att.com/maps/store-locator.html to find a location near you.
Hope this helps and take care!

Q: What is the limit on texts that can be stored on the phone. Is it dependent on the SD card?
1 Answer
A: Salutations, AB983!
I hope you’re well and thanks for reaching out!
The limit of texts that can be stored on the phone is dependent on the phone’s internal storage capacity of 256MB. But, you do have the option to move messages from the phone to the SIM card and vice-versa. Please feel free to check out the user manual at https://www.att.com/support_static_files/manuals/LG_Xpression_2_C410.pdf for more information.
I also invite you to speak directly with LG at http://www.lg.com/us/support for the exact limit of how many text threads this device can support and for any additional questions you may have.
I appreciate your inquiry and hope you have a wonderful day!
