I have had this phone for about six months. Straight out of the box, the thing is unbelievable. The screen, camera, processing power, and design are all excellent. In the settings are some developer options, which allow you adjust animation speeds for the menus, control background processes, see what the phone is doing with CPU, touch screen, and general operation feedback. However, in the end this is just flash.
Like any phone this thing has issues. I know several people who have had to get it replaced because it won't receive texts, fails to notify you when something happens, the speaker dies, yatta yatta. There is a lot that can go wrong with a phone that is this complex. Maybe I'm just lucky and my friends got lemons, or maybe I'm better with it. Either way, I have had an OVERALL GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PRODUCT.
BATTERY:
People complain about the battery life. People, if you play with the settings, it will last longer. Mine usually lasts about four days. Turn off wifi, mobile data when you don't need it, and disable all the automatic syncing. That alone more than tripled my battery life.
BUGS:
This thing is undeniably a bit buggy. Play with the settings, reset it, uninstall things you don't use. The thing with this phone is if you have a lot of things on it using processing power, the opearting system makes mistakes. I have plenty of apps and 15 GB of music, lots of pictures, videos, and apps on my phone, but it could only handle it all after uninstalling and stopping the things that were taking up valuable space. THIS PHONE HAS LIMITS.
This is my first smartphone. It's not bad, though I have heard of a few models that are superior, such as the HTC OneX. This one turned out to be perfect for you, and if you give it a little bit of time and TLC, it will work out.

it's a really nice phone. the screen is great, battery life will last me a day, really easy to use. unfortunately it doesnt work the way i want it to. i have owned two of them. the first one the photo gallery would stop working, i couldn't send or receive messages. i would have to restart it over five times a day. so i got another one. was working fine for a while now photos wont send and text messages won't send, i will receive messages sometimes but not all of the time and i restart this phone more than i did with my last one. i had to restart it twice within a ten minute time period. my service goes in and out randomly which never happened to me before. i wouldnt recommend this phone to anyone, i believe all of these phones will do the same thing: not work properly. whatever happened to carriers making awesome phones?

Motorola Atrix HD

The Atrix HD is disappointing for me. The display is excellent and the speed of processing applications is very good.
Where I have a real problem is the Battery Life which is terrible. Used as a phone, it has a strong signal and produces clear, crisp voice sounds; holds the signal well.
Camera is great - very sharp pix and surprisingly good HD video. In other words, it does its job very well EXCEPT for the
non-replaceable Battery life. Battery life is dismal. in retrospect, I should have paid more attention to the other reviews before committing to this phone. I tend to rely on GPS type apps (such as Golf apps) and discovered I can't finish a round of golf (about 4 hours +/-) before the battery dies. I've had older phones that could do it easily and they had replaceable batteries. Why Motorola sealed this miserable excuse for a battery within the phone baffles me.
All in all, I give this Motorola Atrix HD a resounding NO. I will try to return it, but failing that, will use 'til I can exchange for another (and the time won't come soon enough). And I would NOT recommend this phone to a friend (maybe yes to someone I did not like).

Bigger screen than the original is a plus. As far as I c an see, every feature in the HD is an improvement from the original and I loved the original.
I just upgraded to this phone from the original Atrix. After 2 years, the original started to act up but before that, no issues.
This new version is even better. Big screen, great camera, free navigation, great apps.. no complaints and I know my Atrix's. I researched all my upgrade options for $50 and under and sticking w/ Atrix was absolutely the best option and trust me, I researched like crazy! I'm surprised more people don't own these phones. I'm always recommending it.

Great Phone!

I really like this phone! I switched from the Nokia Lumia 920 because I like Android better than Windows 8. While the Lumia 920 has the better camera.... (the camera on the Atrix HD is adequate with 8mp and jelly bean tweaks), I like everything that the Atrix HD brings to the table!
The Atrix HD is a solid device that in my opinion is as good , if not a better all around device than the Lumia 920. The build quality is great and this phone is very fast! The HD display is as good or better than my Lumia 920. Surprisingly the battery on my Atrix HD lasts all day long and then some. The camera is good... not great, but Android offers many camera apps that can make this camera even better, and Jelly bean updates enhance the camera performance. Oh man, am I happy to be back to Android! I now can have all my favorite apps again on a really, really great device! I love this phone..the Atrix HD rocks!!!! I will have no issue with using this phone for the next year or more.....
