Great Features/Durable
I've had this model for about 3 years now and I can't get enough of it! More than enough features and I love the option of having an external micro sd card. No problems with the exterior. It's very durable for someone who is an active user.

Excellent Phone. Do not believe all critics..

I had Galaxy S3 that I used happily for 1.5 years and then got upgraded to iPhone5S. Only after few months of using iPhone, I started missing my Galaxy phone - especially big screen, swype keyboard & more flexibility. So, decided to get Galaxy S5. I got this phone on the day it got released and very satisfied with it.
Samsung has done amazing job with both software & hardware:
1. Touchwiz is outstanding. I feel like keep on playing with my phone the whole day.
2. Compare to previous galaxy series phones, less bloatwares & more options for unwanted features turning on/off.
3. Like all previous galaxy phones, camera is superb. picture/video quality is very crisp & zoom in feature works great.
4. So many new little updates with software that no review on any internet site for this phone has yet shown like toolbox, S finder etc (there are many more). I am finding new tricks daily with this phone. And most importantly - All the new additions or updated software features are working great.
5. Screen resolution is absolutely stunning. There is no way you cannot like it unless you have pre-determined mindset for any other product.
6. Plastic back cover feels way better than metal back when it comes to holding your phone. This phone does not require additional case as it is not slippery when you hold it unlike iPhone 5S. I had to be super careful with that metal back with iphone. Also, this phone looks very beautiful in real than in pictures online - shimmery white one in particular.
7. You can actually calibrate your head phones when you use it for first time with this phone & this phone will determine exactly how much/less voice your ears can listen & adjust phone voice accordingly. This is a very cool feature.
8. Battery life is not as great like some other phones in market, but it will last you at least a day with medium to heavy use.
9. Speakers are sitting behind which is little odd but I will get used to it. However, sound quality is still decent.
10. I don't have issues with fingerprint scanner so far. Phone accepts my finger scan 8/10 times.
11. Outlook is not authorized to accept fingerprint scanner as your PW in this phone unlike iPhone. So, if you will set-up outlook & if your company requires you to set up at least 7 digits PW, then fingerprint scanner will be of no use when it comes to unlocking your phone.
Even if iPhone will come up with big screen in next few months, I doubt that how many excellent software features like galaxy series phones will it be able to offer. You got to use this phone to feel & realize how great product it is. So from my view point, at this time, actually there is no comparison between iPhone vs. Galaxy.
There are many more good features this phone has to offer and hence I am highly recommending this product to everyone.

Not what I'd hoped for

Got my S5 in the mail yesterday and spent about 5 hours with it before I decided that it was in no way shape or form an "improvement" over my current S4. There are no features that are "useful" that are not on the Galaxy S4. The fingerprint scanner is close to worthless as it must be done with precision and done very slow (I can swipe a pattern or enter a code just as quickly). The screen is bigger, but not that it makes a noticeable difference. The build quality is very chintzy looking and feels even worse. My S4 looks and feels much nicer.

Screen dies, & then you are SOL - completely!

My screen died all of a sudden - a pure black screen - and now I have no way of accessing all of the personal data that was on it. I hear it running when I charge it up, and the clock alarms I set before it died go off - continuously, but it doesn't show up in File Explorer when hooked to the computer. I can't even find a way to scrub all that personal info off of it, either. Not a good design
