As good as other tablets with many pluses.
Pros: - Waterproof (resistant)
- Rugged
- Fast
- No lag
- Light
- Perfect size and dimensions
- 4G LTE
Cons: - Honeycomb 3.2 with with Promise
- Contract
- Limited accessories right now
- Pantech is unproven
The Pantech Element was my choice because I love the 8 inch size, but I prefer the screen dimensions of an iPad. Also, while I don't intend to use the rugged features, keeping a tablet for two years is daunting, and it is nice to know this will hold up physically better than others.
It benchmarks higher than a Xoom or Iconia (3100+ on Quadrant), it weighs very little, and it is very portable. Right now, I am very happy. I am hoping that Pantech proves to be a good brand and that they follow through with the promised ICS upgrade.

Beware before you buy
I was incredibly thrilled with this item at first. I was interested in a tablet and was happy with the water resistant feature. The screen was nice and the tablet was amazing.
BUT... The first one the rep took out of the box stopped working before I even paid. With in a week the one I left with also stopped charging and never turned back on. When I went to the store another customer was there with the same issue. I looked into it and had found out that it's a VERY common issue!
The rep was amazing and offered to exchange it for another tablet. He was honest about the fact that they have also seen a large amount of returns for the exact reason since my purchase.

Give it a shot!

I've had great Android smartphones and I also own other good Android tablets. But I was finding myselft wanting to use my tablet due to larger screen, but then I would get irritated because when I need to access the internet (and no wifi), I have to switch back to my phone. So sold both my android tablet and smartphone and got this Pantech tablet and bought a go phone z431 from at&t. I disabled internet access on my phone and now I have a tablet that has a larger screen but not as big as my 10.1 inch and not as small as my 4.7" screen. And I don't have to worry about switching devices. And there's a cool app that monitors your data usage without dialing *data# and you can have option of turning off data. People always want to rate battery, but it all depends on how it's used. If you Youtube and Netflix it will drain your drain your battery within 2-3 hours. If all you do is facebook, text, internet browsing, it'll last longer. Just bring extra charger.
Pros8" screen is just right size, dual core processor just enough to not slow down, 32gb built-in plus 32gb micro-sd option, 4g lte connection, waterproof. won't test it if it works or not.
Consaccess to cases had to order online, gets warm at the bottom at times. monitoring that.
Yes, I recommend this product.

good alternative to the ipad
Being a ipad user for the pass 4 years i really enjoy the Element its very light and great on the go.the built in speaker is louder than the ipad.it took a few days to get used to a new system. The 10 hour battery dont last to long and needs charging daily. The 4g LTE is very fast when im out.but over all very happy i only wish i had i bigger data plain now.lol

Highly recommend this one... Don't forget the Folio!!! You will find it Necessary
13 years ago
This is a great tablet. Comparable to the I-Pad only less expensive... It is easy to use, has a low glare screen. It is lightweight but not too light. It's only setback that I have found is that it is extremely slick making it necessary to purchase the Folio to keep from dropping it and breaking it.
