Sending and receiving iMessage over cellular
iMessages can be sent between Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac devices. iMessages may have some additional effects depending on your device such as text effects or Memojis.
1.
From the Home screen, tap Settings.

Scroll to Apps.
3.
Tap Apps.
4.
Scroll to Messages.
5.
Tap Messages.
6.
Tap or slide the iMessage slider to the on position.
7.
Tap Send & Receive.
8.
Select the address that corresponds with your Apple ID under "YOU CAN RECEIVE IMESSAGES TO AND REPLY FROM".
This address must be checked and match with your Apple Watch to send and receive iMessages on your Apple Watch.
