1. To access messaging settings, from the Start screen, tap the Messaging tile.
   
2. Tap the Menu icon.
   
3. Tap settings.
   
4. Scroll to view the SMS center number.
   
5. Tap emergency alerts to manage emergency alert settings..
   
6. Tap a switch to toggle an option on or off.
   
7. To edit messaging notification sounds, from the Start screen, swipe left.
   
8. Scroll to, then tap Settings.
   
9. Tap ringtones+sounds.
   
10. Scroll to, then tap manage app sounds.
    
11. Scroll to, then tap Messaging.
    
12. Tap the Notification sound field.
    
13. Tap the Play icon next to a ringtone to preview.
    
14. Tap the desired ringtone.
