Accessibility features improve the usability of your device for users with impaired vision or hearing, cognitive difficulty, or reduced dexterity.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to: 

• Access accessibility features
• Turn on/off TalkBack
• Enable/disable accessibility shortcuts
• Enable Select to Speak
• Access and edit Text-to-speech


Access accessibility features

1. Swipe down from the Notification bar twice, then select the settings icon Settings icon.

2. Scroll to and select Accessibility.

Turn on/off TalkBack

Select TalkBack, then select the Use TalkBack switch to turn on.

Note: Review the TalkBack prompt. When finished, select Close then select Finish. To disable, double-tap the Use Talkback switch. You will be prompted to double-tap Stop to confirm.

Enable/disable accessibility shortcuts

From the Accessibility screen, select the desired application then select the shortcut switch to turn on.

Note: Some services use the volume keys while others require swiping up from the bottom of the screen with 2 fingers.

Enable Select to Speak

From the Accessibility screen, select Select to Speak then select the Select to Speak shortcut switch to place it in the On position. 

Note: Review the Select to Speak prompt, then select Allow to confirm.

Access and edit Text-to-speech

ACCESS: From the Accessibility screen, scroll to and select Text-to-speech output.

EDIT: Edit settings as desired.

• CHANGE LANGUAGE: Select Language, then select the desired option.
• SPEECH RATE: Select and drag the Speech rate slider to the desired speech rate. 
• PITCH: Select and drag the Pitch slider to the desired pitch.
