# Use Call Protect to prevent unwanted calls
Block fraudulent calls, get spam call alerts, and filter your calls using Call Protect on your AT&T digital phone.

### Call Protect features
- __Call validation:__ Calls that display a \[V] on your phone’s caller ID indicate we confirmed the call is from the phone registered to that number.
- __Suspected spam call warning:__ Your AT&T phone's caller ID will display __Suspected Spam__ and a spam type (Political, Nonprofit, Telemarketer, Survey, or Robocaller).
- __Fraud auto-blocking option:__ Potential fraud calls give the caller a busy signal, and the call won’t go through.
- __Call blocking__: If you have a specific number you want to block, press __\*61__ after the unwanted call to block that number. To turn off the individual block, press __\*80__. You can also block and unblock phone numbers under [Call Blocking in your phone portal](https://www.att.com/support/article/u-verse-voice/KM1041912).
- __Call Protect history:__ Displays calls from the last 30 days and sorts them as flagged or auto-blocked.

## Turn Call Protect on or off
Call Protect for AT&T Phone – Advanced[__1__](javascript:void%280%29) is automatically turned on. You have to turn on Call Protect for AT&T Phone.[__2__](javascript:void%280%29)
1. Go to the [AT&T phone portal](https://www.att.com/support/home-phone/manage/). Sign in with your member ID.
2. Choose __Features__, then __Call filtering__.
3. Select __Call Protect__.
4. Read and accept the Call Protect Terms & Conditions.
5. Slide the Call Protect toggle to turn it __On__ or __Off__.
6. Select __Save__.
__Good to know:__ Want to automatically block calls that have been reported as fraudulent? Select __Manage Call Protect__ and make sure the __Fraud Auto-block__ toggle is __On__.
## Save a copy of your call history
If you’re changing your AT&T Phone service to AT&T Phone – Advanced (or vice versa), your call history doesn’t automatically save or transfer over.
You can save a copy before you change digital phone services. Here’s how:
1. Go to the [AT&T phone portal](https://www.att.com/support/home-phone/manage/). Sign in with your member ID.
2. Select __Call History__ and then __Download Call History__.
3. Choose the file format (XLS, CSV, or PDF).
4. Select __Download__.
## Delete Call Protect history
To delete your Call Protect call history (up to 30 days of call logs), select the __Clear history__ link found before your list of calls. Then confirm you want to permanently delete your call history.
