Other important info:
  • If you don't have a plan for your Apple Watch, you'll be prompted to add one.

  • Want to sync your Apple Watch to an iPhone on another person's account? Just make sure you have the user ID and password for that account first.

Sync your iPhone to your Apple Watch Series 3 or newer

To talk, text, or use data on your watch, first sync it to your iPhone. Here's how to set up NumberSync for Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular):1
  1. Go to the Watch app on your iPhone and follow the prompts to start pairing.
  2. Select Cellular and then Set up Cellular. If you don't have a plan for your watch, you'll be prompted to select one. Be sure you have the AT&T user ID and password for the iPhone number you're using.
  3. Make sure to check the box and read the Important Information for NumberSync on the 911 screen.
  4. Select Verify address.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete your watch setup.

Once you activate NumberSync, you can start using your iPhone's wireless number on your watch.1

Good to know: When you call 911 from your watch, the call goes over the mobile network if possible. If a mobile network isn't available, emergency teams use device location data from nearby Wi-Fi® networks to help locate you. If that data isn't available, they go to the address you provide.
