Powering your iPad on and off
Turning your device off and on is called "restarting" your device. Restarting your device is a common first step in troubleshooting any device issues. No saved information will be lost during a restart.
1.
To turn off your iPad, press and release the Power and either Volume Button simultaneously.
For iPads with a Home button, press and hold the Side button.

Slide the Power switch to OFF.
To turn on your iPad, press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.
