Using Live Translation in text message conversations
Live translation allows for real-time, on-device translation within the Phone, Messages, and FaceTime apps, leveraging Apple Intelligence for powered AI translation. It can automatically translate text in messages as you type and their replies, provide live translated captions for FaceTime calls, and offer spoken translations during phone calls.
1.
From the Messages app, select a message that is in a different language.

Tap on the recipient's name at the top of the screen.
3.
Tap or slide the Automatically Translate slider to the on position.
4.
Tap desired language to translate from.
5.
From the Message, tap the text field and compose your message.
6.
Tap Send.
Your sent message will translate to the selected language.
7.
You've completed the steps!
