Get to know the new AT&T Mail

Use AT&T Mail’s new features to help you easily manage your email.

New features in AT&T Mail

In September and October 2025, AT&T Mail new features will be added to organize emails, let you find specific emails, display email attachments, and let you unsubscribe from emails you don’t want in just one step. Want to learn more? Keep reading.

Find email with inbox categories

The new AT&T Mail automatically sorts your email into these categories:

  • All: All messages in your inbox
  • Primary: Personal messages, bills, orders, and other important emails
  • Offers: Deals and promotions
  • Social: Updates from social media websites
  • Newsletters: Newsletters you signed up to receive

If you want to turn categories off, here’s how:

  1. Select More options (…), then Settings.
  2. Choose Personalize inbox and select the Toggle icon to turn categories off.

Choose your view

Compact view lists your email in a condensed display. You’ll see more emails on your screen, but sometimes subject lines and previews will get cut off. To see more of the subject line and preview select the Expanded view icon. To go back to Compact view, choose the Compact view icon.

Unsubscribe from unwanted mail

You can unsubscribe from newsletters and email lists with just one click. If the unsubscribe option is available, you'll see it at the top of an open message.

Give email the star treatment

Have an email you don’t want to forget? Select the star symbol. You’ll see the star between the sender’s name and the email subject.

Preview attachments with the gallery view

When you have an email that has files attached, it’s easy to see a gallery-style preview of the attachments. Just hover over the attachment thumbnail at the bottom of the email and select Preview. To download an attachment, select the down arrow.

Use advanced search filters

You can find a specific message using advanced search filters, including:

  • Sender (from)
  • Recipient (to)
  • Message subject
  • Date or date range
  • Messages that have an attachment, photo, or calendar invite
  • Mailbox

Write now... send later

You can compose an email and set it up to automatically send it out later. Just follow these steps:

  1. Compose your email by selecting the purple circle with the pencil icon on the top left side of your inbox.
  2. Fill in the recipient’s email address and write the message.
  3. Choose the down arrow next to SEND on bottom left of the message. Then select a future date and time when you want the email sent out.

You can use this feature for reminders, birthdays, and other events.

Switch back to the previous version of AT&T Mail

Prefer the previous version of AT&T Mail? Choose Switch back to old AT&T Yahoo Mail in the upper right-hand corner of your inbox. When you’re in the previous version of AT&T Yahoo Mail, you can come back to the new version by selecting the similar link in the upper right-hand corner of your inbox.
