Build your plan

Everyone’s data usage is a little different. You can check your data usage in your online account. If you run low on wireless data, you can buy a 5GB wireless data add-on (expires after 5 days) through your account.

Tip: If you regularly run out of data, you can increase the amount of data on your monthly plan.

The amount of wireless data that you select needs to be equal to or greater than the amount of hotspot data. The smallest hotspot data option for Build-A-Plan is 5GB, which is more than the base plan’s 1GB of included wireless data. 

If you want to add hotspot data to your Build-A-Plan, select at least 5GB of wireless data for your plan.

No. Build-A-Plan is only available for smartphones.

The base plan offers unlimited talk and text, plus 1GB of high-speed wireless data. It doesn’t include hotspot.

When you build your plan, you’ll select wireless and hotspot data amounts. If you find that you need more wireless data, you can buy an extra wireless data add-on through your online account.

When you sign up for Build-A-Plan, we’ll ask if you want to transfer your phone number to AT&T. If your phone is currently tied to another wireless provider, you’ll need to get a Number Transfer PIN from that provider. Once you have that, we’ll guide you through moving your number to your Build-A-Plan line.
