Does The Job!
I Bought (2) Filip 2 Watches. One In The Color Of Watermelon Red The Other Is Super Hero Blue. I Bought Them Both In Fairfield CA 1350 Travis Blvd, Fairfield, CA 94533. Danielle & Daniel Both Assisted In The Buying/Setting Up Process. I Honestly Don't Think I Have Ever Had Such An Amazing Experience Like This Before. My Family & I Were Shopping In The Mall When We Agreed To Buy The Watches For Our 6 Year Old Daughter And 11 Year Old Special Needs Son. They Did Not Have The Watches In Stock But OSee more

Didn't even last a month
I bought the FiLIP 2 for my 7-year-old son and we were mostly happy with it for the first few weeks. Functionally, it is a good watch and performed as advertised. However, the watch face is made of glass, and one day my son came home with a large crack in the face. The watch was still functional, so I wasn't too concerned. However, about 2 weeks later, the watch would no longer charge. I called customer service and they said the cracked watch face was the reason it wouldn't charge. This maSee more

Possible fixes
I just got one of this for my 9 year old.
For GPS inaccuricies, check your map. On my IOS, the watch was next to me but Filip app showed wrong address. I checked the map app and it too showed the wrong address. Updated location and Filip is now more accurate.
Battery life. Set ping update from 15 to 30 mins. And remind your child it’s for emergency. Talk at most a minute or two.
Call quality. Teach your child to speak clearly. Even on regular phones, younger children are hard to understand if they don’t speak clearly.
I’ll post more if you folks find this helpful.

Not suitable for kids
My son had two. The firts one dropped accidentally from his hands only about two feet from floor and cracked easily. Still funtioning but cracked. After few weeks it stopped charging. The contact started failing and didnt make contact so wont charge anymore. It has insurance. Received the second one, new and lasted less thana month because of the same problem. Its not charging. The contact between charger and Filip is weak, not good and not made good contact. The kid always took good care of it and has caution but the quality of that charging part is a failure. Im not investing more in another one to see the same problems.

Broken screen in first hour of wear!
Without exaggeration, my son broke the screen of his watch in his first hour wearing the Filip. The App was useful...good Idea. I think other carriers have a version of the Filip made by LG is a much better option.

Great kids phone
My daughter has been using this for 2-3 weeks & loves it. I really didn't want to give her a full fledged phone so was looking for something like this that doesn't require a full phone to "sync" with (like the Apple & FitBit models).
In short, the FiLIP is easy to use but I have shut off the automatic gps tracking to conserve battery.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Device and app sucks.

I bought the device a couple months ago and it doesn't stay connected to the app. I'm not happy with the device. App doesn't work, doesn't stay up to date with the GPS location of the device.
