Good but expected more out of battery life
11 years ago
I upgraded from the 5S to the 6 because of three reasons: (1) clarity and screen size, (2) 128GB capacity, and (3) battery life. I have never been a person for a bigger screen. All the screens on my previous iPhone's 4 to 5s were sufficient. I did not know how much 0.7 inches would impact my daily usage. I am constantly on my phone, even while using my laptop. Although it is not the perfect size for watching movies, it suffice for me while traveling. I still would like to get the iPad to use while attending class (pulling up documents and PPTs slides are a bit much). The screen is excellent for my heavy Tumblr usage and the clarity in the HD pictures and videos are terrific. When users complain of clarity issues they must realize that if a video is NOT in at least 720p (1080p is my preference) there will be clarity issues. This is not the fault of Apple, this is the fault of the person who created the video.
The 128GB capacity is just what I needed. My 4 and 4S were both 16GB and after that I up'd to 32GB in my 5 and 5S. The capacity was enough at the time for all my devices but when it came to putting movies on my phone it was a hassle. I always had to delete something just to add another. All my movies are in HD so that was 4 to 6GB per movie. With the 128GB I no longer have those issues. Once I add my movies I will have about 50GB remaining. I don't know what else to do with the space!
Lastly, the batter life. Not what I expected. Although I am a heavy social network user (Tumblr and Twitter) my battery life is not good. I use the iPad adapter to charge my iPhone because it charges faster. Every morning I check CNN, Yahoo, and my social media sites starting at 100%. Within 2 to 2.5 hours of using my phone lightly (no video or music) I'm down to 85%. Not good. By the end of the day on light usage I'm at 60%. I rarely speak on the phone. I would say about 95% of my daily conversations are through email and text messages. So maybe that justifies the battery life. But when someone tells me extended battery life on moderate to heavy usage I expect it. This may not be a con for some people but having to charge my battery throughout the day is a issue for me. Maybe I'll stop charging it and let my usage take its course on my battery. Either way, I love my 6. Long as there are no major changes with the next 2 devices I won't upgrade my device.

Bigger isn't always better...
Although the bigger screen is nice, the phone is considerably larger than my 5s and it's hard to hold one handed without dropping it. The improved typing recognition is nice but the processor seems slower. If I could have purchased another 5s with the memory, I would have.

LONG TIME Customer, But DISAPPOINTED w/ PROMOTION!
Right after I purchased this phone, AT&T came out with this deal to switch to AT&T / Direct TV and get $500 towards a new phone if you sign up for a 2-year contract. Well, I have been an AT&T customer for YEARS AND a Direct TV Customer for YEARS and have never gotten an offer like this. I'm very disappointed that this offer wasn't extended to long time customers! Yes, I like my iPhone 6. I'll like it even more AFTER I GET IT PAID FOR!
